26 Reasons Why Your Roommates Are the Real MVPs

For some, sharing a house or apartment might seem like an impossible task (if you're living with the wrong people), but for me, having roommates is one of my favorite things and something that I wouldn't change if I could redo college.

There are a million reasons why roommates are the best, and some of these reasons include...

1. They see you at your sloppiest and lowest, and still love you just as much.

2. They’re always there for you when you need someone to complain to, and they never mind when the complaining goes on for hours (and sometimes for multiple days/weeks on end).

3. They’re always there for you after each failed relationship, and always willing to give you a shoulder to cry on.

4. Long day? Your roommates are always willing to kick back and have a wine night. Or order lots of carbs. Either is great.

5. You can be in your towel for hours on end without getting judged. And what’s better than a towel nap?

6. When separated for breaks or the summer, you miss them immediately.

7. Even when you plan to go to bed early, you know that you’ll end up staying up late with them. Being a little more tired in the morning is worth it.

8. They know everything about you. Even if you didn’t know them before college, they still know everything about your family, friends, your life before college, etc. You can’t even imagine a time when you weren’t friends. It feels like you’ve been friends forever.

9. They don’t get mad when you accidentally eat their food after you come home from the bar.

10. Their clothes are your clothes, and vice versa.

11. Fighting is minimal. Even when fighting does happen, it’s solved immediately, laughed about and over with.

12. They’re always there for you to help you make major life decisions, and you value their opinion and input greatly.

13. Even when you’re not together, you’re constantly texting them throughout the day. Who else would you give a play by play of your day to?

14. Receive a confusing text from a boy? Thank God you have your roommates to help decipher what it means.

15. Your napping schedule is usually in sync, so you don't feel so bad about yourself for taking naps...very long naps.

16. You get excited to come home and tell them about your day, and other small trivial things that no one else would care about but them.

17. They know how often you shower. And don’t ever judge when you miss a day or two (or more) here and there.

18. You have a million inside jokes and basically have your own language. You can also communicate just through looks.

19. After graduation, you want to live as close as possible to each other (or together). They have lived with you for a couple of years, and still love you.

20. You know everything about each other, and they would never judge you for anything. Including staying in bed all day to watch Netflix.

21. They’re your favorite people to go out with at night, and going out without them just feels wrong.

22. The good thing is that they are always down to go out with you, so number 21 is a rare event.

23. You can always count on them for anything, and never have to worry about them breaking your heart.

24. They have the same music taste as you, which makes pre-gaming and dance parties that much better.

25. Because even though you live together, and do mostly everything together, you don't get sick of each other.

26. Because you can't imagine living with anyone else, and you know that they've helped make college the best time ever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
