School season is now back in full swing with friends, homework, and of course parties. While everyone is bummed that summer vacation has come to a close and summer itself is coming to an end, I am over here high in anticipation of the following months to come. Autumn is, BY FAR, the best season that this beautiful planet gives us. Here is a list of 26 reasons why Autumn really is the perfect time of year.

1. The temperature

After months of hot sun and crazy humidity, it's a blessing when the the temperature finally drops 15 degrees.

2. The changing of leaves

This is one of my favorite things about this season. The changing of the leaves is so incredibly beautiful!

3. Sweaters

Being able to wear a big fuzzy sweater on your way to class or work is always ideal. There's something about the soft material against you that it feels like a continuous hug.

4. Blankets

Then when you can finally go home after a long day and get wrapped up under a cozy blanket in bed is actually a saving grace.

5. Campfires

I absolutely love the smell of campfire. There's something about the musky wood smell that just says 'ah yes, fall is here'.

6. Hot Cocoa

Hot cocoa is more often than not the drink of choice for these cozy seasons. I certainly know it's mine. I love the taste of coco as it warms my soul.

7. Flannels

Flannels are perfect for autumn because you don't need layers yet but the plaid pattern mixed with the soft material is goals.

8. Boots

There's almost nothing that says fall more than the well known classic Timberland boots. I adore my pair and they make everything a little more badass.

9. The smell of cinnamon and pumpkin

Already I have candles scattered around my apartment with these autumn scents. I love walking into my room and smelling the warm embrace of this season.

10. Halloween

BECAUSE WHO DOESN'T LOVE DRESSING UP AS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER AND GETTING FREE CANDY.

11. Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is in the full swing of autumn and hanging around with family eating good food is the best way to spend it.

12. Cuddling

I love cuddling, and I love it more cuddling during the cold seasons by a fireplace.

13. Warm tones

There's something about the color scheme that autumn brings that is incredibly soothing. My entire room feels like a cozy den because of these earthy warm tones.

14. The atmosphere

There is something special about the atmosphere during this time of year. It's as if the earth is doing one final show before winter takes over.

15. The food

I bet your mouth can't help but water a little looking at these. Oh, don't worry mine did too.

16. Rainy days

There is almost nothing better than sitting in on a rainy autumn day looking our your window under a pile of blankets and pillows looking out at the world.

17. Cider and donuts

I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then do it all over again the next day. I bet you could instantly taste these flavors as soon as you saw this.

18. Nook like environments

Autumn is know for its coziness. This means finding libraries or other nook like environments that exude the feeling of 'stay awhile and relax'.

19. Baking

Opening the oven with fresh baked food carrying the scent of cinnamon is a cure for just about anything.

20. Harry Potter movie marathon

I'm pretty sure Harry Potter is the perfect series for this time of year especially with the students back at school rocking sweaters and defeating You-Know-Who. Not to mention the scenery in the movies is breathtaking.

21. Pumpkin Pie

A slice of this with some whipped cream on top for dessert is definitely the way to go.

22. Apple Picking

Growing up I went apple picking every year for my birthday which is the middle of October. So you can understand when I say apple picking has a special place in my heart.

23. Oxford shoes

I have a great love for oxford shoes. With their warm tones and classy look, it doesn't get much better than wearing them during autumn.

24. Mocassins

Now, on the other end of the shoe spectrum moccasins always rise to the occasion. With their fuzzy warm insoles and autumn like material they fit right in.

25. Adventures

With the atmosphere of Autumn being magical itself there's almost something special about adventures during this time of year. It's no longer an ordinary walking trail, but now something so much grander.

26. Football season

Growing up in New England I was the house where the entire neighborhood would be in our basement to watch football games. So you can imagine my love for the game itself and I know when football is in full swing so is autumn.
