25 Things to Thank My Sisters For
Gabby Salls

To the sisters who deal with all that I have to dish out, here are the 25 things I may not always remind you I’m thankful for:

  1. Making college my home
  2. Being as strange as me
  3. Always being willing to go to Chilli’s no matter the day
  4. Driving me to Starbucks
  5. And ordering my drink for me because you always know the best ones
  6. Actually thanks for driving me anywhere
  7. Being my best friends on Snapchat
  8. And for not judging the Snaps I send
  9. Understanding my love for certain foods ie. chicken nuggets
  10. Going shopping with me almost everyday
  11. And being honest with me about how that dress actually looks
  12. Jamming out to the same weird throwback songs I do
  13. Understanding why I must sing along to our sister song as soon as I hear the first words
  14. Letting me live in your rooms my entire first semester at college
  15. And for choosing to live with me this following year
  16. For warning me about certain guys
  17. But picking up the pieces when those same guys rip my heart out
  18. For sharing my love for the beach
  19. Helping me push through every semester
  20. Or encouraging me to skip a class here or there for Mac Daddy’s
  21. Sharing my love of puppies
  22. Choosing my outfits for important life events since I can’t dress myself
  23. Taking countless selfies with me
  24. Or making countless memories with me
  25. And most importantly thank you for loving every piece of me and being the people I count on the most

Sincerely,

Gabby

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
