Whether you get assigned a random roommate or choose to live with someone you know, college rooming is always scary. You hope that the ideal "roomies turned best friends" scenario will happen to you. Regardless of whether this happens or not, it is obvious that roommates have a huge impact on your college years. They're the ones who see you at your best, your worst, your "hangriest", and your weirdest. Needless to say, we have a lot to thank our roommates for so here's just a small list of some of those things.

1. Thank you for making sure I didn't sleep through all five of my alarms in the morning.

2. Thank you for taking care of me when I was sick.

3. Thank you for getting past your first impression of me.

4. Thank you for forcing me to do my laundry.

5. Thank you for tagging me in endless videos on Facebook and Instagram.

6.Thank you for letting your closet be my closet too.

7. Thank you for not judging me when I didn't leave the room for a full day.

8. Thank you for listening to my endless rants about boys and life.

9. Thank you for always being down to snuggle and watch a movie.

10. Thank you for having dance parties with me on a weekly basis.

11. Thank you for forcing me to go out even when I really didn't want to (which was a lot).

12. Thank you for not letting the door slam when the windows are open.

13. Thank you for being (almost) as weird as me.

14. Thank you for making fun of our first conversation with me.

15. Thank you for being my cheerleader during midterms and finals.

16. Thank you for never letting me pig out alone.

17. Thank you for accepting my weird and random music choices.

18. Thank you for always singing with me.

19. Thank you for hating the gym as much as I do.

20. Thank you for knowing not to talk to me immediately after I wake up.

21. Thank you for decorating my room for my birthday.

22. Thank you for letting me send you ugly Snapchats and for sending ugly ones right back to me.

23. Thank you for appreciating naps as much as I do.

24. Thank you for making my year incredible.

25. Thank you for being you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
