25 Thank you Messages to my Sorority Sister Roommates

There are so many awesome things about living in a sorority house. A casual conversation in the kitchen can turn into a great friendship, and a bad day can turn into a good one when you spend the night binge-watching Netflix and talking about life. You'll always have a workout buddy, roommate to study with, and friend to go shopping with. On your best days, you know that you have a house full of supporters ready to celebrate; and on your bad days you can take comfort in knowing that you have many people to confide in. Ultimately, there is nothing better than getting to live with girls that you share the bond of sisterhood with.

Looking back on this summer, every day and memory created made me more grateful to be living with my sorority sisters. So here's 25 thank you messages to the girls who made this summer one to remember:

  1. Thank you for the times you cooked me dinner because you knew how much I hate to cook.
  2. Thank you for letting me borrow clothes when I can’t find a single thing I want to wear in my closet.
  3. Thank you for giving me your opinion of every outfit I tried on and not being afraid to tell me when it looked absolutely ridiculous.
  4. Thank you for motivating me to go to the gym with you on days I would rather lay on the couch.
  5. Thank you for going on walks with me so that I didn’t have to walk through the city alone.
  6. Thank you for the many brunches we had on weekend mornings...
  7. …and thank you for never being opposed to going out to dinner the same day we went to brunch.
  8. Thank you for making me laugh.
  9. Thank you for sharing your crazy stories with me from your day.
  10. Thank you for never judging me and for always being willing to give me your perspective.
  11. Thank you for convincing me to buy glittery posters to hang on the walls of our sorority house...
  12. …and thank you for also convincing me that matching bed spreads were a necessity.
  13. Thank you for our late-night conversations.
  14. Thank you for watching Netflix with me for hours and for filling me in on what was happening on "The Bachelorette."
  15. Thank you for our shopping trips to the mall. Although we spent way too much money, those trips are some of my best memories from summer.
  16. Thank you for meeting me at happy hour after our long work weeks.
  17. Thank you for going to get ice cream with me at all hours of the night.
  18. Thank you for writing down every inside joke we created so that we could laugh at them over and over again.
  19. Thank you for staying in with me on the nights we couldn’t gather the energy to go out.
  20. Thank you for ordering pizza with me when we were all too lazy to cook.
  21. Thank you for being there when I got home from work so that I didn’t have to come home to an empty house.
  22. Thank you for the ridiculous group texts that always make me laugh.
  23. Thank you for being my family away from home.
  24. Thank you for the many adventures we went on. Whether we were going to a baseball game, the beach, or just driving around, I always had a blast.
  25. Lastly, thank you all for being a part of my summer. I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
