25 Texts You Send To Your Big
Hannah Settje

Bless her heart. My sorority big, mom, sister, caretaker; she's probably the only reason I haven't dropped out of college... or gotten kicked out. Good thing she always has her phone handy to answer my frantic texts: here are a few she probably gets too often.

1. "What is dress code for meeting tonight?"

2. "What's for dinner at the house tonight? Can I join?"

3. "Can you send me the test file for class?"

4. "Bring me coffee to class, plz plz plz." (8:30 class has kicked our butts.)

5. "I'm at the library, wanna join?"

6. "I'm going out tonight, wanna join?"

7. "What're you wearing?"

8. "Can I wear sweats or leggings... LOL."

9. "Can I drop out of college at midterm and still get a refund?"

10. "Who's that frat guy we meet last week?"

11. "Is that the frat house on the corner?"

12. "I need a dress for formal." *Me asking on the day before.*

13. "Let's go get food. I need something unhealthy."

14. "Does this class suck? I heard I shouldn't sign up for it."

15. "I'm bad at college. I'm stressed."

16. "Can we go to the gym together?" *Hasn't gone in about a month*

17. "Order me a pizza when you do, I'll pay you back."

18. "I'm coming to your room, be there in 5."

19. "Why are some boys so dumb?"

20. "Some random guy tried walking into my house, do I call the cops?" (This actually happened, of course I texted my big first.)

21. "Concert. You're coming with me."

22. "Check out this song/artist."

23. "Does this look okay?" *Sent with a picture of an outfit that usually needs help.*

24. "I won't be at recitation, check me down for attendance please and thanks."

25. "Thanks for being my best and worst influence in college, homie."

So yeah, I'm thankful for someone who can answer literally ANY question I throw her way. This list is just a start of the conversations we have on a regular. I guess I'll keep her wisdom and smart comments around. Lots of love for the biggie, thanks for being my mom on campus.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
