25 Signs You're A Disney Kid (Or Kid At Heart)

So, I have a little bit of a Disney problem. Well, I don't know if it's a problem so much as an overwhelming obsession with all things Disney. I've grown up watching Disney movies and have been an avid park goer for a while now(two years ago I graced that obsession with an annual pass.) I think a lot of issues can be solved with Disney movies and a little bit of magic. So I have put together my list of 25 signs you're a Disney kid (or kid at heart).

  1. You believe in faith, trust, and pixie dust. (And you know where to go to get sprinkled with some).
  2. Your sense of direction is on point. (How do you get to Neverland? Let me tell you.)
  3. You always have something to sing at karaoke. (Uptempo? Driving ballad? One of each?)
  4. You know if you wish upon a star your dreams will come true.
  5. You know there’s no problem that a Disney movie can’t fix.
  6. You understand every Disney park and what makes each one special. (This applies to both coasts.)
  7. You believe that food shaped like Mickey is better than regular food. (This applies to waffles, pretzels, ice cream and cake pops).

8. You can name every character including the most obscure ones.

9. You know that Pooh Bear hugs are the best. (Princess hugs are a close second).

10. You know all the mountains and have conquered them all.

11. You have a large collection of ear hats/headbands which you wear with pride.

12. You understand the importance of a parade. (And you know that Festival of Fantasy is great but you still kind of miss Celebrate a Dream Come True cause the song was super catchy).

13. You know that “nothing is more wonderful than the imagination.”

14. You know what that last quote is from. (HINT: It involves a mouse and a dragon).

15. You’ve seen as many Disney musicals as possible.

16. You’ll bear the trip to Times Square just to go to the Disney Store. (Or you're not from NY so you'll go anyway).

17. You know how pin trading works/have pin traded.

18. You have a binder or corkboard(or both) dedicated to your collected pins.

19. You could never be forced to make such an awful decision as naming your favorite movie or character. It’s just too hard.

20. Your halloween costumes are usually Disney themed.

21.The addition of Disney clothes to Hot Topic was the best day of your life.

22. “I’ll Make A Man Out of You” is your go to workout/pump-up song.

23. You’ll never have enough castle pictures.

24. You know which Prince/Princess you resemble most and have no problem using their name as your own. *cough* Ariel *cough*

25. You believe in magic.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
