25 Little Things In Life That I Enjoy
Kristin Bass

We all have that list of items that makes us happy in some way or another. For every individual, the list is composed of a different set of items. There may be some overlap between different peoples lists, but for the most part, each list is different. I, just like everyone else, have my own list of things that I enjoy in life. These items are the things that make me the happiest when I get the chance to experience them. There are many other things that make me happy in life, but these were the ones that seemed to be the most prominent in my life.

  1. A cup of bold flavored coffee ever morning.
  2. The beautiful sunrise in the morning.
  3. The colorful sunset in the evenings.
  4. A smile from someone you barely know.
  5. The sweet relief your body feels after a long or hard shift at work.
  6. Getting a paycheck of your own, even if it all ends up going to bills. Just knowing that you earned the money for that paycheck.
  7. Crawling into a freshly made bed at night.
  8. Listening to your favorite song.
  9. Doing Random Acts of Kindness.
  10. Receiving a good grade on a difficult assignment or test.
  11. The feeling of Accomplishment when a long list of things to do starts noticeably shrinking.
  12. Waking up feeling refreshed after a good night’s sleep when having slept just the right amount of time.
  13. The feeling you get when you finish a good book.
  14. When a new season of one of your favorite shows appears on Netflix.
  15. Falling asleep to the sound of a storm.
  16. Watching a good movie with great friends.
  17. Getting a fresh tattoo.
  18. Listening to Christian Music, especially when I’m in a time in my life where I’m struggling.
  19. Getting the chance to be able to write.
  20. Sharing my writing with others.
  21. Inspiring others in whatever ways I possibly can.
  22. Taking pictures of God’s beauty.
  23. Being surrounded by God’s glory.
  24. Being surrounded by Family.
  25. Having the privilege to go to College to get an education.

These are just the top 25 things that make me happy in life. Though there are more, it would take too much time and too much energy to sit here and type everything out. I encourage everyone to take the time to sit down and count the blessing that you have. Not everyone can surround themselves with a lot of the things that we surround ourselves with daily. So many people are so underprivileged compared to a lot of us here in America, but we often don’t realize just how lucky we are for having all the privileges that we have. Look at all the things in life, regardless of how small they are, that you have been blessed with, and see just how blessed you truly are.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
