25 Activities You Should Add To Your Summer Bucket List

One month of summer is making it's way to an end, but for many it still seems as if summer is just beginning... and why should it end so soon? But for others the summer has yet to come when they come to a loss of ideas on what to do on a few of their days off. So, my suggestion is why not make some sort of summer bucket list? I got this idea after seeing a Facebook post with 50 different things to do over the summer, which allowed my best friend and I to create our own list consisting of 20 fun activities. So I present to you 25 activities for your summer bucket list:

KEY- $$ is for when you have more money
$ is for when you have little money
- is for when you have no money

$ Drive-In Movie

Because sometimes you just need to get out of the house...and they play some really good movies.

- Expand Your Knowledge

Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can't get your geek on. Learn something new. Find something your interest and do some research. You'd be amazed at what you discover.

$ Feed The Ducks!

It's always nice to feed the ducks. However, don't feed them bread. It's actually bad for them and can mold, polluting the water. Instead feed them half seedless grapes, cooked rice, bird seeds, peas, corns, oats, chopped lettuce, and some places even sell duck food.

- Go Hiking

There are places that allow you to hike for free, and let me tell you the view from some of those places are just breath taking.

- Go Night Swimming

Most pools at night are closed except for your own and some rivers... as long as you don't mind the bugs and mosquitoes that is. You know what would make this cooler, though? If you put glow sticks in the pool at night. Just remember to clean them up when your done.

$ Go To A Fair

The fair has a lot to offer, so even if you don't ride there's still a lot to do! Check out the animals, enjoy delicious fair food, games, and more!

$$ Go Zip-Lining

Not recommended for anyone afraid of heights.

- Hang Out With Friends

You don't have to spend money to catch up with some of your friends. A fun day can just consist of going to one's house and talk or play games such as board games, yard games, video games, and other activities.

$ Have A Picnic

Pack some chips, make some sandwiches, and load up those juice boxes! These kinds of lunches can't be beat whether it's at home in the backyard or at a park in the nice sun on top of a blanket.

- Have A Movie Marathon

You can rent the movies free from your local library or you might even watch your own. Who needs the big screen when you can invite friends over and watch a movie together in the comfort of your own home for free?!

$ Have A Water Day

Dollar Tree has a pack of 100 water balloons for a dollar. Crank out the hose and dust off your super soakers. Get a bucket full of water and a sponge and play all sorts of water games. Knock yourselves out (Not literally.)

- Hunt For Fossils

You never know where you could find a rare ambered insect or the remains of a triceratops. Even just going for a walk would be relaxing if you come back empty handed

- Play Frisbee/ Corn Hole/ Lawn Darts

These fun activities can take place anywhere, but they can be free if you, a friend, or a family member own these games.

$ Play Putt-Putt

Unless you can construct an amazing mini golf course in your own backyard, you might have to spare a couple of bucks to kick someone's butt a mini golf, but it will all be worth it.

$$ Ride A Roller Coaster

Not recommended for anyone who experiences motion sickness or fear of heights. This is definitely pricey unless you ride the dragon coaster kiddie ride at the fair, but going to somewhere such as the coaster capital of the world would definitely be worth it.

$-$$ See The Ocean

Yeah, the ocean is probably free, but depending on how far of a drive or flight that is it can vary. On the bright side, you can swim while you're there. :D

$-$$ Sleep In A Tent/ Go Camping

What's better than staying in the outdoors with a few friends huddled around the campfire roasting marshmallows under the stars while telling ghost stories while sleeping in the comfort of your own tent? NOTHING! You can swim, fish, and be crazy.

$-$$ Travel/ Road Trip!

Who says you have to stay in the state? Explore your options and experience something different. Go to a different state, heck go to a different country! Can't afford the plane ticket? Go on a random road trip! Who knows where you'll end up, but it's quite relaxing.

$-$$ Try A New Restaurant

Restaurants are normally a bit more pricey, but I don't see why it couldn't be a new fast food restaurant.

$$ Tye-Dye

Tye-Dye kits are usually a bit pricey, but they're a lot of fun. Plus, you can make some seriously crazy cool designs...and on more than just tanks and tops.

$ Visit Haunted/ Abandoned Places

Explore what can't be seen by the visible eye...or can it?

$$ Visit a Major Landmark

Mount Rushmore, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World, visit one of the great lakes... the possibilities are endless!

$ Visit And Explore A New City

Because why not?!

$ Visit A Zoo/ Aquarium

Who doesn't love animals? I sure do!

- Watch Fireworks

THE FOURTH OF JULY IS UPON US PEOPLE! Don't miss out on same amazing firework shows!

- Watch The Sunrise/ Sunset

Because you can't get the same breath taking affect you would if you saw the photo... you'd get a better one.

Save your money or take the cheaper way out, and enjoy your summer!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
