23 Thoughts You Have During A Road Trip

It is finally that time. After weeks and months of school, work, and interning you are finally setting off into the world - into the unknown - for a road trip and vacation. You've been planning it for months and you have the highest expectations of how the entire trip is going to go. You're going to be spending lots of time in the car jamming out to hip and trendy music with your friends, eating fun snacks, and sight-seeing beautiful scenery as you wind your way to wherever you're going. It's going to be perfect. What could go wrong when you're spending hours upon hours in a car on an awesome road trip to an exciting, new location, right?

It's at this moment that you finally set off on your road trip and your thoughts start to swirl into a downward spiral where everyone in the car hates each other and you all end up at some gas station in the middle of nowhere because you just had to go to the bathroom:

1. *internally screaming* OMG This is so exciting!!!

2. Let me get my awesome road trip playlist going! Everyone is going to LOVE it.

3. Oh, I don't think she likes Taylor Swift.

4. Or any of the music that I like...

5. Well at least we can enjoy the scenery on the way there.

6. Okay, the highway has no scenery.

7. This is literally the same scenery I get driving home from work.

8. Where are all of the beautiful landscapes? I JUST WANTED TO SEE HILLS AND MOUNTAINS AND GREEN FIELDS GOD DAMNIT.

9. Ugh I need a snack.

10. YUM chips!!! I love chips.

11. Okay now I need water *chugs entire bottle*

12. I'm probably going to have to pee soon.

13. Okay I definitely have to pee.

14. Fight the urge. You DO NOT have to go.

15. ALL I CAN THINK OF IS RUNNING WATER.

16. Great now we have to pull over - this is going to set us 10 minutes off of our itinerary.

17. WE WON'T HAVE TIME TO DO EVERYTHING.

18. But I really need to go to the bathroom.

19. OKAY now that we got that out of the way we can FINALLY get to the good part of this road trip.

20. With none of the fun music, or scenery, or snacks.

21. Are we there yet?

22. No really, are we there yet?

23. ARE WE THERE YET?

Happy Traveling (and try not to drink lots of water on long road trips).
