Sometimes, you just gotta write an essay. Whenever I do, a lot of thoughts usually start floating through my head. I've documented a few for your amusement. Let me know if any of these come to your mind, or if you have some you could add!

1. Would Wikipedia or Google scholar be a better place to start?

2. (1 paragraph in) Wait, I should write my thesis first...

3. (3 pages in) What’s my thesis again?

4. For heaven’s sake, is it illegal to use “I” in an essay?

5. Science majors don’t have to do this… (they do, btw, sorry science majors)

6. Why does it have to be so LONG?

7. I want coffee. No, I need it.

8. I’ll go to bed after this next paragraph.

9. Will the teacher notice if I use a citation generator?

10. I heard if you make the periods 14 pt font, you can lengthen out your essay…should I try it?

11. I’m taking a walk…

12. I’ll go to bed after this other paragraph.

13. All of my friends are having fun. I bet Jason got this done forever ago. You suck, Jason.

14. My Facebook friends must all be so worried about me…

15. I wonder if I can get away with just reading the Sparknotes…

16. Hey, this is pretty good…can I cite Sparknotes?

17. It can’t be healthy to look at a screen for this long.

18. It will all be over soon…(takes nap)

19. I wonder what the weather’s like outside.

20. I’m going for one more walk.

21. This sucks. I’ll probably look back at this and laugh one day. (starts crying)

22. END IT!!!

23. Rats, this thesis doesn’t connect with the rest of my paper!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
