My cousins are my best friends, maybe you can relate. Here are 23 reasons why they make the best partners in crime.

1. They know exactly what you’ve been through.

They know the good, the bad and the ugly. There is nobody in the world that you could be more real with.

2. They are like your siblings, but you don’t have to be around them all the time.

You get along, you have a great time, you fight, you bicker, you love each other, and at the end of the day, you get to go to your own house, without ever having the chance to really get on each other's nerves.

3. They have your best interest at heart.

They have your back. Even if it seems like they don't, they do.

4. The bring out the kid in you.

Your cousins are the most authentic people you know. You grew up playing tag on Christmas Eve, and you still do. You go camping together, jump on trampolines, go to parks, and still have sleepovers. No matter where you are, it's always a good time.

5. If you weren’t related, you wouldn’t be friends, but you are related and they're your best friends.

You have completely different hobbies, interests and personalities. If you met for the first time at school or work, you probably wouldn't be friends. But luckily they're your cousins and also your BFF's.

6. They respect your beliefs and you respect theirs.

Your beliefs may be a little different, but your cousins know who you are and your friendship is unwavering. You may disagree about some things, but not about the stuff that actually matters.

7. They will do anything for you, and you will do anything for them.

They will make a weekly tradition to go out to eat every Wednesday, just to get you out of your room during the winter. They will celebrate your accomplishments with you and you'll brag about each other. Like I said before, they have your back.

8. Even when you fight, you get over it.

You grew up together, you're going to fight. You might not talk for a few weeks, but everyone gets over it and before you know it, it's like nothing was ever wrong.

9. You can talk about Harry Potter and Pokemon for hours on end.

Your favorite past time is to watch Harry Potter together and their ultimate goal in life is to get you hooked on "Pokemon GO." What I'm saying is that there's no better people to nerd out with.

10. They're the kind of people you get questionable matching tattoos with.

We'll leave it at that.

11. They’re down for anything, anytime.

From late night trips to crystal shops to breakfast at your favorite vegan restaurant, your cousins are down to hang out with you no matter what you decide to do together.

12. It’s 2018 and you can still laugh about what Grandpa said when you were playing Catch Phrase six years ago.

No better people to play board games with and no better people to reminisce with.

13. You have gone through loss together, and become closer because of it.

In the words of Bill Withers, "We all need somebody to lean on." There is no better support system than one made up of people who are going through the same loss that you are.

14. You tell them all of your secrets and they tell you theirs.

You don't have the same friends so it's not a big deal if they blab to their pals about all of your secrets. Plus, you trust them enough to know that they won't anyway.

15. You wouldn’t trade them for anything.

You genuinely could not imagine your life without them.

16. You know they're going to be your bridesmaids.

What better girls to support you on your wedding day than the girls who have been with you through it all?

17. You spent your entire childhoods together playing in tree houses and going to camp together- you know everything about each other.

They are the only people in the world who know literally everything about you. You grew up practically as siblings and you really do have a bond unlike any friendship.

18. They don’t judge, you don’t judge.

When you're together, it's a judgment-free zone, 100%.

19. You have always looked up to them.

They are some of the most amazing people you know. They are so motivated and each one of them has made their own path. You look up to them and they look up to you.

20. They say it how it is.

Sometimes it's a little rude and sometimes it can hurt your feelings, but your cousins don't beat around the bush and that's something you could probably use more of in your life.

21. You have shared many of your favorite memories.

You have shared every birthday, holiday, accomplishment, loss, and Wednesday night with your cousins. They know how to make you happy and that's probably because you have had so many good times together.

22. You can call each other out for BS.

Like I said, we don't beat around the bush.

23. They can give you advice about parents, siblings, and friends.

Cousins are a triple threat. Who better to give you advice about parents, siblings, and friends, than your cousins?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
