23 Things I Wish I Could've Told My High School Self

23 Things I Wish I Could've Told My High School Self

After recently graduating high school, there are plenty of things I wish I could have told myself during those 4 years. Yes, high school is hard, judgmental, and full of drama, but you cannot let those things affect who you are. It is a time where people think about partying, boys/girls, being rebellious, and most importantly what college they're going to attend. Stop stressing over things that do not matter and enjoy the best 4 years of your life. If you're a senior, enjoy you're senior year, make the best out of it because it does not last forever.

  1. There’s no such thing as “being cool” or “being popular” just be yourself.
  2. Rumors don’t last forever.
  3. You don’t need a relationship to be complete.
  4. If a relationship/friendship does not work out, leave it alone. It’s not worth your time, stop being sad.
  5. Have a guy best friend, he’ll be the one there for you in the end.
  6. ACT: won’t affect how you get into college or your academic ability.
  7. Find great, reliable, and trustworthy friends.
  8. Meet new people, you'll be surprised who you meet.
  9. The pimple you had for homecoming/prom does not matter, nobody noticed.
  10. Always forgive yourself, everybody makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect.
  11. NAP!!!!
  12. Avoid big fights, over stupid things. Pick your battles wisely.
  13. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
  14. All of those late nights studying will pay off when graduation day comes.
  15. It is okay to sit at lunch or walk the halls by yourself.
  16. You will get judged, get over it.
  17. Make memories that will last a lifetime.
  18. Your mother is always right.
  19. Your parents texted you because they were worried about you, not because they are “over-protective” or “annoying".
  20. It is okay to eat disgusting and fatty foods.
  21. Your sibling is your best friend, get along with him/her.
  22. Always be yourself.
  23. Don’t grow up too fast.

As my high school days came to an end, I started realizing what mattered the most and stopped worrying about the little things.. Always remember, you'll always have yourself.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
