My motto for 22 has been "what a year." Your life is literally at the tip of your fingers. The world is yours–you can be whoever you want to be, do whatever you want to do. You're close to graduating and entering the real world, or maybe you have already. All you want to do is live, and live as full as you can. Here are 22 ways to tell, that you're really feeling 22.

1. Your life is slightly a mess

You haven't exactly nailed this whole "on my own" thing yet. Maybe you let your chicken cook a little too long, or maybe you accidentally burnt your business casual shirt while you were ironing. You drive until your gas tank hits empty and you don't really have the money to get those new tires you need. Eh, it's okay-- don't stress it, you'll figure it out.

2. You've been through the dating scene... a lot of the dating scene

You've been meeting people left and right. Some make your heart flutter, and some drive you up a wall. You always alert your best friend when you finally decided to get dinner with the guy you were flirting with at the bar. It's always a hit or miss. Luckily, you can call Amanda when you realize your date is a total weirdo. You're not completely ready to settle into anything serious just yet, you still are trying to find what you want in that department.

3. You tend to choose the worst guy over the nice ones

There is just something about the guy who never wants you. You form a deep interest in the tall mysterious guy who barely answers your texts. It's him, he's the next one I'm going to have a thing for. Yes, let's forget about the gentleman who opens car doors for you. I would much rather get the attention of the guy who isn't giving me any. Logic...

4.You stop caring what the cool kids think

Oh, so Dani from Communications Lab thinks my outfit from Thursday was ugly... Cool, I don't give a hoot. I liked it, so take your snarky remarks else.

5.You know who you are and what you want

Um, well, kind of. You can see yourself writing for a major magazine company, or doing the event planning for Walt Disney World...maybe... ??? ... I mean, it sounds like a good plan...

6. But, you're not sure how you're getting there

Yes. I am moving right out of this town the second I get that magical piece of paper.. just I have absolutely no idea how I'm doing that.

7.You just want to dance with your friends

Tonight, I don't care about anything else. I'm not worried about working on my resume right now. I am taking a break and having fun. It will be there in the morning anyways. DJ, play Hands To My Self by Selena Gomez, please! Heels off, grab your crew and make your way to the dance floor.

8. Happy

You really are happy with where you are and who you've become. You love your life. You don't have it all together, but you're getting there. You've made a good name for yourself and you're proud of that.

9. Free

Let the people who are pushing you down talk. You can do what you want. You run in whatever direction you want to. Do it without thinking twice.

10. Confused

Okay, so what do you mean I need 4+ years on the field for every job I want? What do you mean we met at the wrong time and it would have worked if life wasn't so unsure? What am I even doing?

11. Lonely

Oh, there was a get together this weekend that I didn't get invited to? Cool, great, yup pretty sure everyone hates me. Thanks for blowing me off Jim. WHY AM I SO SINGLE?

12. It really is miserable and magical

You're learning and living. Dancing through the heartache and breaks. You go through times when you are so happy with everything right in front of you, but everything else is going wrong. It's okay, this is the time to make mistakes that will build your future.

13. You're at the cusp of becoming a real adult

UGH, shoot. I need to pay my credit card this week. Maybe we should skip the road trip.

14. But, you're still just having fun

Ha, yeah no. We're going on the trip. We'll make it work.

15. You know it's okay to not have it completely together yet

Stressing this one. You will figure it out. I promise it's okay.

16. And it's totally fine for you to postpone your responsibilities to take a random adventure

Forget the job search right now, we're going to Orlando! Life is too short not to.

17. You've spent too many nights laughing with your friends at a diner around 12 a.m.

Sometimes you go out and you're just not about it. Ditch the whole scene. Pancakes and syrup mustaches sound like so much more fun in the middle of the night right now.

18. You keep your friends close because right now, they are your biggest support system

Thank them for being there when you are crying on your bathroom floor. They've built you up when life gets you down, they push you to achieve all that you can. I don't know where I'd be without them.

19. Forget about the dude who broke your heart, he sucks.

Oh sure bud, go ahead and make out with that hot blonde right in front of my face. We were just having a conversation about trust like two hours ago. It's fine. It's really okay. You have fun with that. I'd rather have an intellectual conversation anyways. Not worth it, on to the next.

20. You just want to travel and see the world

It's really amazing to you that there is a whole world out there that you haven't seen. You have the urge of restless wanderlust tingling all the way to the bottom of your toes.

21. You're kinda over the house party scene... but not really

Hum, sit a small group and have casual conversations over wine and a nice diner.. or jump around with all of my friends.

22. 23 is approaching and it scares you more than anything

Wait, wait, wait... that's such an adult number. I should probably get my act together. I wanted to be engaged at 24... yet here I am... oh so single. Ha, to that one. It's going to work out. You will get a job, you will meet the love of your life. Work hard, don't ever stop, "just keep on dancing like we're 22."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
