The start of summer brings sunny days, outdoor barbeques and the start of summer jobs. Whether it’s an unpaid internship or an honest-to-god job, for your first week of work you are probably thinking the same thing everyone else is. Just know you are not alone. Thousands of other newbies are trying not to mess up just as much as you. Here is a list of thoughts you are probably thinking during your first week of work.

1. Ok, I’m here. So far no one has realized that I’m completely unprepared and ill-equipped for this job. I just have to keep this façade going for the rest of the summer. Seems doable.

2. Seriously?! How much paperwork do I really need to fill out? I’m only here for the summer. Do I actually have to take the “Asbestos Awareness Training”? Short answer: No. No I do not need to take the “Asbestos Awareness Training” but you can bet your butt I’ll be taking it anyways

3. How many times is it ok to ask for them to repeat their instructions?

4. Ok I’ve asked them about the same thing twice now but I’m still confused. I’m starting to think they can smell my fear.

5. I’M SO UNQUALIFIED FOR THIS JOB I CAN’T STAND IT.

6. When’s lunch?

7. Where is the bathroom in this place anyways?

8. How did I get lost coming back from the bathroom? Why does none of this look familiar? Try not to panic. Remember, they can smell fear.

9. Ok I’ve walked around this entire floor three times already and I have no idea where my desk is. I might as well quit and leave now.

10. Is it possible that I left the building when I went to the bathroom?

11. The worst part about this is that everyone probably thinks that I’ve been in the bathroom this whole time. No one wants to be the new intern with digestive issues!

12. Well I’m right back where I started now at the infamous bathroom. I wonder what’s around this corner…

13. OH MY GOD THE BATHROOM IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM MY DESK.

14. Now I definitely can’t tell them I got lost coming back from the bathroom so they will definitely think I have digestive issues.

15. I guess worse things could happen. Like the fact that I still haven’t done the one thing they asked me to do because I am still confused.

16. I sure hope no one is depending on what I’m doing because I’m sure everything I’m doing will turn out to be horribly unreliable

17. I’m too scared to leave my desk again in case I can’t find my way back. I guess I’ll just skip lunch today

18. You know what this whole working thing really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

19. Why couldn’t this summer be like last summer? Why did I have to get a job? Who needs work experience or another thing to put on their resume? I sure don’t! I’m fine with a blank resume. JUST FINE.

20. How soon is too soon to quit? If I get out of here by the first week then we can all pretend like it never even happened!

21. I haven’t been drinking any water just to make sure there isn’t another bathroom fiasco.

22. Next week will be better.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
