In college, we have the luxury of summer vacation and some may
even be lucky enough to not have to work or take classes. But even with
whatever we have going on, we all tell ourselves that during summer vacation we
will do things we didn’t have time to do during the year, like work out
every day. Though I know I won’t do all those things I have time for now, this
is a truthful list of what I’ll actually do…
1. Binge-watch multiple Netflix shows
2. Take three naps in one day
3. Eat a whole pizza by myself
4. Spend more money than I should ever admit on going out to eat
5. Refuse to put on sunscreen and suffer the consequences of sun poisoning
6. Feel the consequences of a fun night the morning after
7. Feel bad about not enjoying how nice it is outside, but stay in bed anyways
8. Tell my friends I can’t go out because I’m busy even though I’m definitely staying in to watch Netflix
9. Spend all of my money on drinks, Ubers, food and clothes I know I don’t need
10. Instagram every time I do something fun so I look like I’m having a great summer
11. Spend hours trying to find the perfect filter for each of those pictures
12. Complain about how hot it is every time I go outside
13. Regret eating Chick-fil-A right before putting my bathing suit on
14. Spend hours by the pool ignoring my responsibilities
15. Get serious FOMO when I see my friends doing something without me
16. Get jealous of all of my friends on tropical islands and fun vacations and try to avoid seeing all of their pictures
17. Do my hair just to have it ruined by the humidity
18. Spend more time caring about what bathing suit I’m wearing than what outfit
19. Do whatever it takes to get a great tan
20. Try to master going into a pool without getting my hair wet
21. Stay up until the early hours of the morning and get mad at myself for sleeping all day the next day
22. Have fun and make the best memories that I possibly can
No matter what we choose to do this summer or what we tell people that we did this summer, these are undeniably going to be fit into your summer at one point.
