As our classes draw to an end and we pack up all of our belongings and head home, summer is officially beginning. We are finally free from the burdens of tests, quizzes, projects, and papers for over three months. At the beginning of summer there will be a lot for you to do, and your summer will look really fun and bright. But so many days of doing the same things so many times with the same people can get absolutely boring. After watching the 100th episode on Netflix, going to the pool for the 50th time, sitting in your pajamas for days, and being your house's prisoner, you will eventually feel like banging your head against the wall. However, with a change of scenery and a change of activity, you can have the best summer ever! To me, a good summer is doing all of the things you love, spending time with all of the people (and animals) you love, having experiences that will change your life for the better, and getting the things accomplished that you normally can't get done during the school year. Here are 15 ideas of fun things you can do to keep you busy all summer long!
1. Take a photo every day, and at the end of the summer make a scrapbook out of all of the photos.
2. Learn something new or start a new hobby.
3. Go to a a theme park.
4. Have a picnic in the park.
5. Watch the sunrise and the sunset.

6. Re-watch all of your favorite TV shows.
7. Give back to those less fortunate than you.
8. Host a bonfire or go to one.
9. Spend a night gazing at the stars.
10. Read in a hammock.
11. Go hiking or biking.
12. Build a fort.
13. Act like a tourist in your own city.
14. Read all of the books you never got to read during the school year.
15. Go to the beach
This summer it is more than OK to have those days where you want to stay in, be lazy, and keep your eyes glued to your computer screen. But do yourself a favor, put that 12th Oreo down and get out of the house to bathe in the sun and put some adventure back into your life. Summer is supposed to be the time of your life and it is supposed to be a time to make memories. Have fun, learn something new, meet new people, reconnect with the friends you haven't seen in a while, have quality time with your family, have quality time with your dogs or cats, visit new places, and do what you love. Now you have all the time in the world to focus on you, the people you love, and the things you love, so embrace the time you have off of school and make this the best summer ever!
