22 Signs You Went To A Christian High School
Alec Bailey

If you went to a private, Christian high school, you understand it is an experience that is unforgettable and incredibly unique. There were definitely some fun highlights coming from a Christian high school, such as performing in drama club or supporting classmates in a game. However, there were some low points, such as not branching out or not experiencing a big school dance. Only people who have lived through it will truly understand the struggle and the humor that was attending a Christian school. No one will understand the deep friendships made, or how fast news spread, dress codes, the overload of homework and adjusting to the real world after graduating. Here are 22 signs that you, in fact, attended a Christian high school.

1. Everyone knows who you are

Even if you are new, you will be known by the 2nd period

2. Even the teachers know who you are

Including the ones that you have never had a class with.

3. The teachers care about who you are

They know when you mysteriously take too long of a bathroom break.

4. Your school was also a middle school

You tell children not to grow up.

5. And maybe even an elementary school

It can be shocking to think there is someone who went to school from 1st through12th.

6. You had strict dress code policies

You were slightly hesitant, but you came around to the idea of not planning what to wear.

7. You were dress coded several times a week

You had that one friend who got away with anything and everything and you still got dress coded on everything.

8. You had about five classrooms for all your subjects

You did not have to walk far to class, and now that you are in college you wish you did not have to walk a mile to class

9. Homework was actually expected of you

What even is homework? Oh, right the endless nights of essays and projects you were assigned daily.

10. If you did not complete your homework you teacher held an intervention

Again, they cared.

11. You attended a mandatory Bible class

You spent the entire class listening to a few people have biblical arguments with the teacher.

12. You became well versed in prayer talk

You truly have become a master at prayer, which means you and JC know what's up!

13. Your entire grade shared every single class together

The best part of a small school is that you can spend 9 hours a day, 5 days a week with people. Everyone loves one another, when has that ever caused problems?

14. Everyone knew the intimate details of your life

There was no hiding.

15. Except, perhaps, that one thing you managed to keep hidden

One thing about having everyone know your business, you learned how to hide the real truth.

16. Everyone was a strong Christian on chapel days

Chapel was where everyone let loose on their Jesus praises.

17. There was absolutely no PDA

Something you actually agreed on.

18. Dating was a more challenging concept with all eyes on you

Better just to say "I will pray about it" but you really mean no thank you.

19. You had horrendous banquets, which were supposed to be some sort of dance

Holy awkward.

20. Banquets, however, were the most awkward and yet fun nights

These were most definitely awkward and an unusual night of fun memories.

21. You can name everyone in your graduating class from memory

Spending so much time with a small number of people makes forgetting anyone very difficult.

22. The friends you make at a Christian school are often for life

Through all the good and the bad, I would not choose another place to go to high school. This is where we met life long friends, a safe place to be yourself and to grow in your faith...this is where we became who we are today.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
