I love being a server. I really do. But, I work at a super busy restaurant and it can be stressful at times. The problems servers that have tend to be pretty universal, however. So, it is always easy to bond with others about the struggles of work.

If you are a server, I am sure you will be able to relate to this whole list and will have more to contribute:

1. Getting triple sat (or even quadruple sat-- the horrors).

2. Having a full section and a full bladder and not knowing which to prioritize.

3. Spilling something on your uniform as soon as you get to work.

4. Bad tippers.

5. Customers who want to chat for ages.

6. Customers who want to show you pictures of their grandchildren.

7. Forgetting to put an order in.

8. Having a table leave (because their food is taking too long) just before their food comes out.

9. Having a party of one missing from the table and not knowing if they simply went to the bathroom or left.

10. Dropping food.

11. Having to split the bill six ways.

12. When people make their own menu.

13. When people speak 100x faster than you can write.

14. Ketchup duty.

15. People walking in five minutes before closing.

16. When people insist they got (insert random food here) last time, but it has never been on the menu.

17. When people take a year to decide.

18. "I’ll have a burger, extra well done, but not dry, no bun, extra lettuce, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, but not burnt, a fried egg, no pickles, and instead of french fries can I have half an order of chips and half an order of onion rings? And can you put the sides on a different plate”

19. When all of your friends go out on Saturday night and you have to work.

20. Not being able to read an order you wrote down.

21. People who make you go through the whole list of cheeses and then choose American.

22. Having to smile through the pain of walking around for 8 hours.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
