Hey, congratulations! You've found that special someone! Maybe he's a engineer and you think that's pretty cool. But there are some things you should take note of that may occur during your relationship:
1. You have learned to not complain about your classes, because his are way harder.
2. You learn about how there are more kinds of engineering than you ever thought existed.
Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Mechanical… What?
3. He can’t make it to your Thursday night social with his fraternity because his circuits homework is taking longer than expected (true story).
4. About 98 percent of the time, you don't understand his lingo.
5. You try really hard to wrap your head around it, but still no luck.
6. When he talks about engineering stuff with his friends, you feel like the oddball out.
7. When they make an engineering joke, you try to laugh like you understand it, but you are still clueless.
8. You can’t study with him at the engineering building because everyone there talks while doing homework.
9. It took you the entire school year to figure out what DiffEQ stood for.
Differential Equations, my friends.
10. He’ll be working on his robot up until 20 minutes before your spring formal starts (also true story).
11. Your patience level has reached an all-time high because you can’t rush him when he’s working on something important.
12. You have learned that when he takes a thermodynamics class in the summer, he will become aggravated.
13. And you still don’t know what thermodynamics is…
14. You know if you need to talk to him at 2 a.m., the chances he’ll be awake studying are very high.
15. You try to make what you’re learning sound cool, but it doesn’t quite reach the same scale as what he’s learning.
16. When he drinks, he really deserves to let loose.
17. No matter if he is smarter than you, he’ll never let you think that.
18. You know he wouldn’t have picked engineering as his major if he wasn’t passionate about it.
19. He has no choice but to work extremely hard and put a lot of effort and care into what he does, which, if you’re lucky, will transfer over into your relationship.
20. You realize that the guy you’re dating is a stud.
Who would willingly put themselves through four years of engineering school if they didn’t want to be successful in the future?
