Big Idea

I think those singing and talking veggies were really onto something. Here are some things you'll definitely be able to relate to if you are a college student who loved VeggieTales as a kid.

1. The First Week

All of the "getting to know you" games and events. An introvert's worst nightmare.

2. Trying To Make It Through The Day

Assignments and due dates coming at you like:

3. "Class is canceled."

The only reason I check my email.

4. Waking Up Late

You set your alarm for 7:00 p.m. instead of a.m. and have to run to class in what you wore to sleep. Good thing is, everyone understands.

5. Squad Gatherings

Your plans to hit the town suddenly turn to sitting on the floor of someone's dorm watching funny videos.

6. Class Discussions

When the conversation is getting too deep and you don't even remember the question asked.

7. Confusion

It's just a state of living you get used to.

8. Assignments

Reading through the requirements and rubric

9. Food

When I put my name on my leftovers, it's MY food. Fight me.

10. Papers

*uses a comma in the wrong place* *fails entire paper*

11. The Freshman 15

Yes, I eat cereal, pizza, and ten cookies for lunch. Don't judge me.

12. Keeping Up

Keeping up with notes in class, lectures, deadlines, assignments, friendships, family, sanity, etc.

13. High Schoolers

" High School is so hard. I'm just going to party all of the time in college."

14. Procrastinating

You might find yourself organizing your food, binge watching a show, or dancing around your room. Almost anything will suffice to keep from having to do work.

15. Motivation

There are those rare days when you feel like you can conquer the world and get that 4.0.

16. Going Home For Breaks

TIME TO SEE MY PEOPLE AND PET MY DOG!

17. Bad Grades

It's fine. You only have thousands of dollars and your whole career on the line.

18. Meeting Up With Friends

If you don't have the same class times or major, you're lucky if you pass them on the way to class throughout the day.

19. Going Crazy

You've probably considered getting counseling. The next closest thing is usually your roommate or a quick phone call to your mom.

20. Reading

Oh, ye of little faith. That's what Sparknotes and Shmoop are for.

21. Remembering Assignments

You're lying in bed about to fall asleep and you remember that 5 page paper on the history of cuneiform is due for your 8 a.m. tomorrow. You probably haven't even started.

Tag a friend who can relate and share! As Bob and Larry would say, "God made you special and he loves you very much!"

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
