21 Things You Might Say To Your Teammates Everyday
Grace Shin

There's nothing better than having teammates in college. They are family. Not that we don't spend enough time traveling together during season, but I seem to be around at least one of them as long as I am awake...sometimes even when I'm sleeping they're next to me but that's okay. They are the ones who can change my mood from crying to laughing in about three seconds. Here are some of the conversation/phrases we say to each other everyday.

1. Are you still up? If so come hangout with me, if not, wake up and come hangout with me.

2. What are you doing? If you're not doing anything, come study with me or come watch me eat. Maybe even with me to to my hair appointment that might take two hours. (it actually happened)

3. Is anyone hungry? What are you feeling today? Chick-Fil-A, Canes, Panda, IHOP? SOMEBODY PLEASE PICK SO WE CAN EAT!!!

4. Has anyone taken this class yet? Can someone help me with my homework? By help, I mean can you just do my homework for me if you know what's going on more than I do?

5. Who wants to drive? Well I actually have a good spot so somebody drive.

6. What time is practice again? I don't suggest anyone to send this in the group text unless you want 10 people answering you at the same time.

7. Do you have (*Insert article of clothing, nail polish, homework assignment, bacon, egg, cheese, ketchup, milk)? Yes, why don't I actually bring my fridge and my room to your house?

8. Do you want to study tonight? By studying, does anyone want to have a get together on our phones and computers?

9. Let's do something this weekend! OKAY! *Everyone goes home for that weekend*

10. Are you coming?YES WE ARE. By the time I slide and open this message on my phone and reply to you, I probably would've been there.

11. Can someone go with me to (*Insert restaurant, library, car, some building, gas station, etc.)? Yes, I will drop everything that I'm doing so I can accompany you to your task.

12. Does anyone want to go to ____'s Party? Nope, we don't party. What's P-A-R-T-Y?

13. Come look at this outfit. Does this outfit make me look unattractive in any sort of way?

14. Can you open this pickle jar? Everyone likes pickles on my team except me...

15. Can we take a group picture so we can look like we're having team bonding? *Takes picture*

16. What filter makes all of us look tan, pretty, and attractive? Lark.. No Juno... Wait, higher the contrast then turn the brightness up...perfect...

17. I have to tell you a secret, but you can't tell anyone but the rest of the team... YES TELL ME NOW.

18. Are you in your apartment? No, I know its like one o'clock in the morning but nope I am in my car camping out.

19. Can you guys date already? You know, If I could change things in this world, you wouldn't be asking me that question right now.

20. Can we invite ___ to come with us? *Waits for text* Well I hope it's okay because I already asked.

21. Can we all drop out and just live off of each other somehow? Yeah and coach will just have to get a brand new team in the next 10 days.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
