21 Things We'll Think Of Our Social Media In 10 Years

If there is anything that MySpace has taught us, it is that your social media can come back to haunt you. Well, that and that Instagram and Facebook don't quite capture your teen angst the way MySpace did. Also that the song you had set to your profile really said a lot about who you were as a person. The same for your background.

OK, MySpace taught us a lot, but most importantly the "social media coming back to haunt you" thing. We can always look back to MySpace for a good laugh and TimeHop does a great job at reminding us that some things should just stay buried in the deep dark 2009 Facebook albums. But we can only imagine what our future selves will think of our social media now and what we will regret in say, ten years. If I had to guess though, I think we'll be thinking things like this:

1. Why did no one call me out for pretending to be a photographer?

2. Or for the excessive amounts of candids I posted?

3. OK, my Twitter was normal.

4. I just retweeted a ton of dog videos.

5. And videos of kids falling.

6. And videos of veterans coming home.

7. *sobs uncontrollably* She thought it was just any other soccer game.

8. Why was every caption a pun or a song lyric?

9. Is it possible that I was addicted to puns?

10. Or was I just really punny? I still got it.

11. Wait, what even is a woe? Why are you running with it?

12. Oh, woes as in sadness. Well none of these captions made any sense then.

13. Another dog video. Look at his wittle face.

14. I got 20 retweets on that tweet. I was basically Twitter famous.

15. Could I have capitalized on that Twitter fame and lived off of being Twitter famous?

16. No, that's probably only Instagram. Maybe it's not too late.

17. Do all these selfies saved to my Snapchat memories make me a narcissist?

18. Yeah, because things just happened to be aesthetically pleasing all the time.

19. Wow, I posted a lot of pictures of food.

20. Actually more pictures of food than people.

21. Wait, that hasn't changed. Priorities.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
