21 Reasons to Go Home

  1. Doesn't matter if you've been gone for two weeks or two years: your mom will react the same.
  2. She's going to be so excited just to see you and give you a hug and maybe even a kiss on the cheek. It's nice to feel wanted.
  3. Every single article of food is up for grabs. FOR FREE.
  4. There is no ramen within a 1-mile radius and you have a sense of comfort.
  5. Top-notch cable? Watch any channel you want on a nice TV without that crack through the middle of the screen.
  6. Long showers. You're not paying for them, so stay in for a few more minutes (or 15).
  7. You get to see the loves of your lives: your dogs!
  8. Taking a break from homework and school makes you feel refreshed.
  9. Your mom isn't going to notice that you wore that same outfit last week.
  10. The most dramatic moment of the day will be what your family will have for dinner.
  11. If there is a spider or cockroach, you can rest easy and call your dad instead of declaring World War III on the freak-show.
  12. You have closets that actually fit all your clothes and picking out an outfit doesn't take 20 minutes.
  13. Cleanliness.
  14. It actually smells clean (see above).
  15. Your parents' bar: you have the opportunity to drink more then Natty Light.
  16. They want to know all about college-life. Who doesn't love talking about themselves?
  17. FOOD (again).
  18. Struggle bussing on gas money? Drive your mom's car around!
  19. You get that pep talk that you need to hear so badly about work.
  20. You get to spend quality time with people you love.
  21. That $5 your mom slips you on the way out.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
