I started my "journey" with Beachbody's 21 Day Fix challenge, along with a hint of Insanity on the side. My overall goal is to drop 20% of my body weight in 60 days. I'm right on schedule and have lost 9.5% of my body weight in the first 21 days of my challenge. Some want to know how much I lost. Some want to know how I did it. Others are asking, "What's next?". Patience, Grasshopper. The answers are coming!1. Did I hit my 21 day goal?
Duh! Do you think I'd be writing this article if I failed? (Just kidding.) But really. My goal was to lose 15 pounds in 21 days and to lose at least 6 inches overall. In the end, I lost 16 pounds and 12 inches overall! This is the part where you take a break from reading, stand up, and clap for me. Thank you, thank you. (Half kidding.) Keep reading.
2. How did I lose so much weight and inches in just 21 days? Is that even healthy?
Dedication, my friends. And yes, I'm healthy. I didn't starve myself or binge workout or anything. I simply made a few adjustments to my diet and workout schedule and voila!, the nasty melted away and then, bam! Hello, muscles. Where ya been all my life? Instead of chicken alfredo for dinner, I had salad with chicken. Instead of a chocolate milkshake, I had chocolate Shakeology. And instead of the daily struggle between Netflix and getting my butt to the gym, I got to roll out of bed and pop in a DVD without anyone to impress but my dog! And just to negate the naysayers who argue that you don't have to get dressed up for the gym, please take a look at who I was working out next to.. Nuff said!
3. How will I lose the other 10.5%?
I'm so glad you asked! After having such amazing results in my first challenge, I have decided to crank it up a notch and tackle the Focus T25 program. This is an intense workout that is known for helping people shed pounds and build awesome looking muscle. The workouts are only 25 minutes long, so you kick butt for a little bit and then you're done. I've heard incredible things about the program, so I cannot wait to get started!
