Why make resolutions when you can have a yearly bucket list instead?

Happy New Year

With a new year comes new resolutions and goals we set for ourselves. I've learned that, for me personally, making resolutions don't work. I somehow always end up thinking of them in a negative way and that defers me from wanting to actually accomplish them. So I started thinking of them as a year long bucket list. Things I wanted to do/places I wanted to go within the upcoming 365 days. It makes it more fun for me anyways, who doesn't love crossing things off their bucket list.

This year I decided I'd share my 2017 bucket list, that way people who don't like making resolutions have another option they may not have thought about.

Go To More Concerts
Realistically, I go to more shows than most people I know. But in 2017 I want to go to as many amazing shows as I can. I'm already confirmed to see Green Day and Metallica, who knows what other tours will be announced, and I plan on going to as many as possible.

See More Movies
Once I went off to school, I stopped seeing movies in theaters because there just isn't one near me. I used to go once a week in high school and I loved it. Since I want to go into the makeup industry, specifically for film, it feels like research almost. Besides, theater popcorn is amazing.

Exercise More
Now I'm not unhealthy by any means, but I am in college and when I have down time I for sure don't take advantage of it. This year I want to change that. I need to get outside and move around. Probably not running because I have asthma and I might die, but maybe at home yoga and some good walks.

Stop Spending Money On Food
Honestly, spending money on food makes me so angry but when I'm at school I get too lazy to make food for the week so I can take it to school. It's too expensive for me to keep doing that, and there's no reason I can't pack a lunch. I just need to stop being a lazy college kid.

See New Places
I want to travel, I want to see the world and all it's wonders. Unfortunately, college comes with a budget. But I have a few trips in the works right now and I am determined to make them happen so I can see some new places and expand my horizons.

Go To The Beach
Truth be told, I've never been to the ocean. I'm not sure how I went 19 years without ever setting foot into salt water, but I did and 2017 will be the year I swim in the ocean. I will make sure of it!

Read More Books
I'm such a book lover and college takes away all the time I'd have to read. But somehow, this year I am going to read more books and buy more books. I will discover new authors and new series that will inspire my own writing.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
