Why wish upon a star, when you can pray to the one who created it?

On December 31st the whole world was reminiscing on their best memories they had in 2016, and of course everyone was also doing the countdown. As the clock struck 12:00AM, social media was flooded with New Year's resolutions, and hopes that 2017 is good to them.

I understand why people hope for a better year, but I never really understood why people depend on things like a shooting star, a wish, or on luck. Why not pray to the one who created the star?

Why not cast your anxiety on God because he cares for you? (1 Peter 5:7) In order for 2017 to be a great year, it all depends on you. During problems, give them to God instead of tweeting about them. 2017 is the year you no longer have to suffer from guilt, depression, anxiety, shame, or fear. God will revive you, He will heal you, He will satisfy the longing of your heart, and He will not reject you.

So let's make 2017 a year filled with success and prosperity.
