Hurricane Matthew & Other Events Of 2016
Mykindarain

So far this year there have been many worldwide events that have occurred including presidential debates, Kim Kardashian being robbed at gunpoint in Paris, clowns terrorizing our streets, and more recently, with Hurricane Matthew having ravaged everything in its path. There has been so much going on, and 2016 is not yet over, warranting for many other things to come.

In regards to the presidential debates, elections are coming up next month in November, so results are that are pending. I don't know about you, but I definitely do not want Trump running our country with his racist, cynical, and sexist opinions.

As far as Kim Kardashian West on the other side of the world, what happened to her is something that I would not wish on my worst enemy, so sympathy and regards go out to her and her family. May Kim's bodyguard fulfill his promise to the Kardashian family and find those who brought on this havoc.

As far as the whole clown thing goes, everyone better know that I'll be staying home in my comfy bed on Halloween night and not facing the dangers out there brought on by this disguise consuming the country. I have seen enough horror movies in my lifetime to know that those who go out looking for trouble will most surely find it.

Onto another issue, there were many evacuations taking place in South Carolina and Georgia as Florida was being demolished by Hurricane Matthew. As far as news reports go, flooding took place in most of the regions in the South East, and not only has it affected America, but it has affected Haiti as well. Many lives have been lost, as well as many homes. Over 500 lives were lost in Haiti, and 43 were lost in the United States, so prayers out to those lives lost and to their families.

With only a few months left in 2016, there is still much room for more events like these to occur. The hurricane season is still ongoing, Kim Kardashian West's assailants are still at large, clowns are still terrorizing the country, and elections are still yet to take place. 2016 has been one heck of a ride, so fasten your seatbelts folks, and be prepared for more to come.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
