This years election cycle has been one hell of a ride. So many things have been happening that are just, quite frankly, too much. Here's the scoop on how we feel about the 2016 presidential election according to our friends from Pawnee, Indiana from "Parks and Recreation."
1. The fact that Donald Trump is actually the GOP frontrunner, and people are voting for him.
Oh yeah, disclaimer: if you support Trump, this article probably isn't for you. Anyone else, sure, but Trump...
2. Especially since Donald Trump is *literally* Bobby Newport.
Think about it-- Bobby Newport is a rich kid with no experience in politics who always says what he believes and doesn't know what he's doing. Sound familiar?
3. And every time he opens his mouth, all I can think is...
4. When that candidate you can't stand finally drops out of the race
5. There are so many candidates, you can't even keep track of who thinks what on any given issue.
6. When Bernie won New Hampshire
Or, if you support Hillary, when Hillary won Iowa, Nevada, or South Carolina. Or if you support Cruz, when Cruz won Iowa. Or if you support Trump... Well...
7. When the candidates have to bullshit their way through an answer in the debate
8. As the candidates discuss economic issues that you don't fully understand
We're all secretly Andy and April.
8. How did Donald Trump even get so rich? He probably took advice from Jean-Ralphio...
9. When Bernie offers free college tuition at public universities
Before you say anything, yes, we know it isn't free, and that it comes from taxes, but we also know Bernie's plan is to raise taxes primarily on the upper class, so we're not that concerned.
10. When all hell breaks loose at the debates, as usual, and it's kind of just like
11. Still not knowing who you're actually going to vote for, because politics are confusing
12. Any time something new happens in this hellhole of an election cycle, and it just leaves you kind of shocked, like...
Our friends in Pawnee had it easier when they had their Knope/Newport elections, and those elections were wild. Literally, they happened on a comedy, and 2016 still manages to have more unexpected plot twists and hilarious moments.
But in the end, we all know who the real president should be...
