As 2014 comes to a close, it's that time of year where we once again, make a completely BS, unrealistic list of resolutions that we all know will only last maybe like, 4 days total.
But this year, I challenge you to follow these resolutions to live life to the fullest, become a better person, and ultimately kick the disasters of 2014 right in the crotch.
1. Be kind to people, it's not that hard. Seriously. Being a raging b**** really isn't going to get you anywhere in life. We're all a little mean, just learn to keep it in your head.
2. Stop hating your relationship with food. It's okay to challenge yourself to eat healthier in 2015! Eat your fruits and veggies, but don't deprive yourself. What is a life without cake batter donuts?
3. Honesty is still the best policy. If you hate the way your best friend is late to everything? Tell her. If you have a friendship that isn't worth your time anymore, tell that person. Not only will it benefit your life but also the person you're being honest with.
4. Do more of what makes you happy. Why continue to waste time doing things that don't give you enjoyment? I'm not saying to stop studying or doing your homework, but if the major you're working towards isn't going to give you lifelong fulfillment, what better time to change it than the present?
5. Start accepting yourself for who you are. It's time that you stop getting down on yourself for the little things and embracing your imperfections. It's the little quirks that make you who you are (which by the way, is a boss a** b****).
6. Stop taking other people's crap. Stand up for yourself, do what you gotta do. If someone can't do something you ask, do it yourself. Sometimes the most reliable person in your life is going to be you.
7. Obviously, get in shape. Don't do it for anybody else, do it for you. Spring Break is right around the corner and you're going to look hot as hell if you stick to a realistic routine and just sweat it out at least 3 times a week.
(Next week is 2015, get going.)
8. Be young. These years don't last long, so take them with a grain of salt (i.e. tequila and lime). Go out while you can, be jobless while you can, but get your sh** together when that time comes.
9. Take advice from Chelsea Handler. She knows what she's talking about, guys. Chels managed to sum up the essence of the entire challenge in one sentence.
(Seriously, do it.)
So go out there, take 2015 by the reigns and ride it out because I have a feeling that it's going to be a life changing year.
