20 years And 20 lessons.

20 years And 20 lessons.

As much as we want our teenage years to go quick, it is crazy when you realize that yours really are coming to an end. Lately, I have been reflecting on things I have learned in recent months and over the course of my time on earth. Here is a list of 20 lessons I have learned in 20 years of living this crazy thing called life.

1. When you go out drinking, put a protective cover on your phone.

2. Plan and edit the idea of your dream wedding with your friends often.

3. Invest in a nice pen and stationary.

4. Write down the things you are thankful for when you're stressed.

5. Hug people.

6. Have a candy stash.

7. All people, not just romantic partners, have the potential to break your heart.

8. Your hair always curls better dirty.

9. You just have to eat junk food sometimes. There is no other way to feel better.

10. Running a half marathon makes you feel like a world conquerer.

11. You should sing in the elevator, in the shower, in your house, anywhere. And all the time.

12. You control your actions in all situations. The situations do not control you.

13. Search heaven and earth for your favorite style of clothing.

14. If someone sincerely apologies to you, try to accept it.

15. Plan with Post-it notes. They save lives.

16. When you're angry, swearing is the only thing that will help sometimes.

17. Driving on backroads on a sunny day with the windows down will never get old.

18. Go after whatever drives you toward intellectual growth.

19. Find an activity that relaxes you.

20. Be a badass, by your own definition, and no one else's.

There is so much more to learn and experience. None of us are done yet and I hope it all just keeps coming!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
