You've been waiting for it since the first day of school: spring break. From skiing on the slopes to tanning on the beach, all your college friends have dispersed for a week. Your newsfeeds and Snapchat stories are going crazy because everyone has stopped studying and they feel like the world needs to know. If your spring break isn't exciting enough, don't worry--there are so many ways to vicariously experience "fun." This can be good or bad, depending on how you take it. Since spring break seems overwhelming at times, here's a compiled list of "typical" spring break, at least through my eyes.
1. Posting a Snap story that is, at least, a minute long
2. Going somewhere with your roommates and/or future roommates
3. Going to Florida (or just about any other beach)
4. Or skiing (probably in Colorado)
5. Going on a long road trip
6. Creating a hashtag for the trip you're taking
7. Having a photo shoot on the beach
8. Easily spending all the money you've earned over months in the span of five days
9. Captioning your photos: "Can I just stay here forever?"
10. Checking Snapchat every new place you travel to use the geofilters
11. Working hard to get a tan (aka never using sunscreen)
12. Realizing that you should buy more aloe vera next time
13. Reading something other than a textbook for the first time in awhile
14. Taking advantage of your friends' houses
15. Or using your friends' family members' condos
16. Sleeping in for the first time all semester (and doing it for a week straight)
17. Seeing people from college at your vacation spot
18. Using a selfie stick because all your friends have to be in every picture
19. Making a music video of your week
20. Bringing homework on the trip but not actually doing it until the Sunday before school
Spring break is the break that every college kid needs. But sometimes it's easy to get wrapped up in the details or the fun that your other friends are having. Instead, take the time to enjoy where you are.
