During your college years, you are given so much freedom to go out and explore. Road trips are the perfect way to cover large areas around you while making a ton of amazing memories. I spent the last two weeks of my winter break traveling along the coast and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to travel with some awesome people. If you are an adventure seeker and are eager to see new places, I suggest using your next break to take a road trip.
1. Take scenic routes.
The extra 30 minutes is worth it. Trust me.
2. Make sure to stop at cute little coffee or tea shops.
Coffee/tea shops are notorious for their unique flairs.
3. Visit a farmer's market.
4. Take advantage of family/friend connections to save money.
Food and gas can rack up expenses. So, save on places to stay by reaching out to family and friends in the area. Chances are they will be happy to have you stay with them for a night.
5. Switch off drivers.
Driving can be tiring and even boring at times, make sure to switch off drivers every hour or two to keep the sanity in the car.
6. Find quirky parts of a city.
Most cities have hidden gems, the fun part is finding them.
7. Sunsets are different everywhere you go, try to make time to watch it every night.

8. Look up food accounts on Instagram to find the best food in a specific city.
9. Visit a book store.
10. Go with people you won't get sick of.
11. Stray from the average tourist pictures.
12. Ask a local where the best spot is to look over the city.
13. Try something new.
If you have time and you're in an area that is known for a specific activity, why not test your abilities?
14. Go to a flea market.
15. Admire street art.
16. Visit an art museum.
17. Share meals.
It will help you save money, plus you get to try more things.
18. Pack light.
Stick with the staples. You'll be hopping from place to place, you're not going to want to lug around a heavy suitcase.
19. Plan out definite must-sees, but leave room for spontaneous detours.
20. Take lots of pictures.
Although it doesn't beat the first-hand experience, it sure does make for great memories to look back on.
