Taylor Swift, though a couple million dollars richer than all of us, has perfectly described the life of the college student numerous times. Like us, she wants to be excluded from the narrative, whether that be the latest bit of drama or a finals week you would do anything to avoid. In the course of her time under the spotlight, she has shown us the perfect ways to react to nearly every situation college can possibly throw at you.
1. When you're broke but all your friends want to do something
You would rather do anything besides stay in while all your friends have fun, but your bank account is your worst enemy. Sometimes you just have to send those 'sorry' messages and hope your fellow broke college friends understand.
2. When your professor starts teaching on syllabus day
Everyone knows that syllabus week is basically a throw away week. You shouldn't have to do anything besides grab your syllabus, listen to your professor for a few minutes, and then continue on your merry way and probably take a nap. But this professor has other plans, and you have to fight the urge to walk out.
3. When your professor doesn't curve tests
You just need a break. You can't be perfect all the time, so sometimes you depend on your professor to help you out and curve his tests. It's kind of the right thing to do. However, this professor didn't get that memo.
4. After the first week of classes
College is tough, and it seems even harder after you come back from a relaxing break. As you near the end of your first week back, you probably just want to take a nap.
5. When your professor asks you a question and you don't know the answer
Everyone's eyes are on you, but you don't really know what's going on. So you decide to just roll with whatever comes out of your mouth and hope for the best.
6. When you decide to go out instead of studying for that test tomorrow
Who cares about that test? Not you until you're sitting in class and realize that you probably don't know anything at all.
7. When you do worse on a test than you expected
You still have, you know, a few more tests to bring your grade up, and if all else fails you'll probably still be able to drop the class. Hopefully. So, for now, just shake it off.
8. When your friends talk you off the edge of a mental breakdown
Sometimes those all-nighters and all that caffeine catch up with you and you find yourself a blubbering mess. But these crazy moments are what friends are for, and when the storm passes you realize just how much you love them.
9. When you surprise yourself and actually ace a test you thought you failed.

10. When a professor offers bonus points
Prior obligations mean nothing when a professor offers bonus points for a class you've been struggling in.
11. When you see the first test question and it makes no sense
Whether you study all week or not at all, this will probably happen to you. Sometimes professors can be truly evil.
12. When you're single on Valentine's Day
It's basically girls' night times one hundred, with buckets of ice cream, lots of chocolate, many laughs, and basically a whole lot of fun with other girls rocking the college single life.
13. When you're actually on time to class for once
While rare, sometimes you don't press snooze on your alarm six times and you actually get to class before the professor walks in.
14. When your favorite song comes on
No matter where you are, when your jam comes on you have to dance.
15. When you actually dress up for class
This is a rare occurrence, and something that needs to be documented.
16. When you try to flirt with the boy sitting next to you in class
Sometimes you just have to go for it, no matter how awkward you may look or feel.
17. When you still have thirty minutes left in class and it feels like it's been an eternity
Sometime class seems to drag on forever--especially if you're looking forward to doing something fun afterwards.
18. When you realize you're in that class with the terrible professor everyone talks about
Maybe you should have checked ratemyprofessor.com. Sometimes though, there's no way around taking that tough class, so you just have to suck it up and hope for the best.
19. When your parents ask where all your money went
Sorry, Mom and Dad, but I was just really hungry and only eating out every night could satisfy my appetite.
20. When it's Finals week
After a week of all-nighters, a ton of caffeine, and mentally draining tests, you may have crossed the line into insanity.
