20 Thoughts of Finishing a Series on Netflix

20 Thoughts of Finishing a Series on Netflix
Adam Rifkin

We all go through it. Following a big snow day, lots of procrastination, or a typical Friday night, the time has come: you have finished that series on Netflix. After days of hard work, you have finally watched the last few seconds of the emotional involvement that is a Netflix series. You have spent hours obsessing and lots of tears partaking in the emotional roller coaster of watching a series.

For binge watchers, this could be multiple days of skipping class, eating popcorn, and staying in bed. For slower viewers, this journey has involved being glued to your phone in between classes, staying up past 1 a.m., and using every last second of the day to watch just a few more minutes of your favorite show. Everyone has a few thoughts when finishing a series on Netflix:

1. What. Just. Happened.

2. What am I supposed to do with all of my free time?

3. I finished the show before I finished the Girl Scout cookies, now what?

4. Can they really end it like that?

5. Now what do I watch?

6. I guess I can be social now...?

7. Or actually go to class...?

8. But probably be social now.

9. Does it really end if I re-watch it?

10. Can I write the editors for a new season?

11. Nothing can be better than that.

12. Maybe I'll just go on Pinterest now.

13. No, no I am being productive.

14. The Girl Scout cookies are gone.

15. I'll just text my friends, that sounds like a good plan.

16. Maybe they will understand the ending?

17. No, they can't possibly understand.

18. Now I will start my homework.

19. After I send this text message.

20. Forget it, I will just watch a new show.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
