The summer before I left for college, a friend of mine told me that Fayetteville is like a black hole. She said that once I lived here for a while, I’d never want to leave.

Now that I’m about to start my senior year, not a day goes by that I don’t feel sad thinking about each and every aspect I’m going to miss about my second home. In order for everyone to get a feel for why Fayetteville was voted as one of America’s Best College Towns by Travel & Leisure Magazine, I’ve compiled a list of the 20 things we all love most about our school, our town, and the friends we share them with.

1. Being ready and willing to “Call those Hogs!” at any given time and place, even in settings totally unrelated to the Razorbacks.

2. Our town is so cool, it inspired it’s own clothing line. 

3. Dickson is more than a street. It’s a state of mind; a lifestyle. 

4. You don’t even have to make time for the gym, because walking up hills to class makes you feel like you've just completed a Brazilian Butt Lift workout. 

5. The scooter to car ratio is pretty close to even. 

6. If you don’t take a picture looking over the ledge, you didn't really go to Devil’s Den. 

7. Saturday mornings begin by scrolling through the WSCO app. 

8. From First Fridays, to the Farmer’s Market, to boutiques like The Mustache, you know that the square is the place to be for all things hipster. 

9. Each time you walk past Brough, your mouth waters at the thought of a hot flatbread sandwich. 

10.  Always trying to remember which year you’re not supposed to step on in front of Old Main. We’re very superstitious at the U of A.  

11.  Little Rock’s population nearly doubles when we travel as a pack for a game at War Memorial Stadium. 

12.  There are few things more beautiful than a tie-dye cookie from Rick’s Bakery. 

13.  Getting offended when people from back home crack jokes about Wal-Mart. 

14.  It’s not Thirsty Thursday, it’s Stirsday. Dollar drinks all night? Don’t mind if we do. 

15.  You start having withdrawals after going more than a week without a Steven’s Special from Mexico Viejo. 

16.  Loving the outdoors so much that setting up your hammock in the middle of campus is completely acceptable. 

17.  You know that the weekend of Bikes, Blues, and Barbecue is the perfect chance to go home for a few days.  

18.  Partying every night of the week. T-shirt Tuesday, anyone? 

19.  Thinking Bill Clinton is a pretty cool guy, regardless of political affiliation. 

20.  You can’t wait for school to start back up, because your Friday’s just aren't the same without chicken fingers.
