20 Things I Must Do Before My 20's Are Over

I'm not getting any younger, so I better start on my bucket list today.

20 Things I Must Do Before My 20's Are Over

As I think about how fast my college years have gone by, I begin to look at the big picture. I think about how, before I know it, I am going to be getting married and having children. Your 20's are for experiencing the unknown and doing things for yourself, because as you become an adult, it's going to be difficult to balance everything else in your life. I created this bucket list for 20 things I want to do, not for anyone else, but for myself. Before I turn 30, I want to complete all 20 things on my bucket list.

1. Live in New York for a year to experience the fast life.

2. Swim with sharks.

3. Experience the real Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

4. Run in the San Francisco Marathon.

5. Visit Rome and throw a penny into the Trevi Fountain.

6. Learn how to cook.

7. Attach a lock to the love bridge in Paris.

8. Learn a new dance, such as Salsa.

9. Purchase a motorcycle.

10. Spend New Year's in Time Square.

11. Ride a camel across the Dubai Desert.

12. Drive to the middle of nowhere to sleep in the bed of a truck and stargaze all night long.

13. Go on a spontaneous road trip with my best friend that has no destination.

14. Snorkel with giant sea turtles.

15. Stomp on grapes to make my own wine.

16. Go whale watching.

17. Start a new tradition.

18. Bathe in the hot springs of Iceland.

19. Try every Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor.

20. Write a letter to myself to read 10 years later.

I only have nine years left and zero things completed on this list, so I better get started.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
