Although we seem to be a dying breed in this day and age, when technology is supreme and constantly checking social media sites is now an activity people spend the majority of their day doing, there are still some of us out there that learn to put down the phone and computer and crack open a good book. Many of us feel the same attachment that others feel toward their phones to a great read.
Reading is a different experience for everyone. For some, it is brief escape from reality, while for others, it is a source of knowledge and a conversation starter. Here's to all those people who still take the time to enjoy and cherish those trips to the book store knowing that an adventure awaits them when they open the pages of a new book. All of us book nerds can relate to the struggles of those that don't understand our passion for the written word.
1. You get angry when the characters don’t do what you want.
2. When your favorite character dies you go into mourning.
3. When you finish a book you can never move on right away.
4. You know so many random facts from reading.
5. Most of your friends are the ones that are obsessed with the same books.
6. If not they never understand your jokes from books.
7. Getting a new book is a big deal to you.
8. And you get excited when it is becoming a movie.
9. And make shirts for the midnight premiere.
10. But then hate it when you watch it because it just wasn't the same as the book.
11. You’re the go to for book recommendations.
12. You get emotionally attached to characters.
13. Okay, you actually have a crush on them.
14. And you imagine yourself as a character daily.
15. And talk like you know them in real life.
16. You hate when people tell you you read too much.
17. Because you read to get away from people for a little.
18. You can’t just read one chapter.
19. You are broke from buying books.
20. You sometimes cancel plans to read instead.
