We're really not asking for much

Ahh the holidays are upon us, but gone are the days of writing letters to Santa or giving our parents our wish lists. Although we may desire some new gadgets, shoes and clothing, most of our wishes are so much simpler than that.

1. A stress free 24 hours.

We're not asking for a month...just a measly 24 hours...please!

2. Free food for a month

Feeding ourselves is expensive, even if we don't eat out.

3. Free Netflix for a year.

Not for life, just one year would be nice.

4. Gas Cards

If you really want to show your 20 something year old how much you love them, help them fill their gas tanks.

5. A hangover cure.

...or maybe just some helpful tips to bounce back quicker.

6. A home cooked meal

That smells delicious.

7. To have our laundry done

Clean sheets for minimal effort, please.

8. A Nap

No caption needed for this one.

9. Free Oil Change

It's just one of those things we hate paying for.

10. Alcohol

Wine, beer, liquor, whatever you feel like giving.

Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
