20 Small Wins That Automatically Brighten Your Day
Elite Daily

Not every day is going to be your best, that's kinda how life works (as a rule of thumb anyway). But every day presents you with the opportunity to be happy, or at the very least, smile. While we can't win them all, we can actively choose to see the best in the world and appreciate what surrounds us. It's easy to get down on yourself- but it's also easy to find the best in each day. If you choose to look for the best, you can appreciate just how awesome your life is. Here is a list of just twenty reasons to smile, twenty small wins you're likely to experience this year, if not just this week.

1. When your winged eyeliner comes out perfectly even.

Even if today isn't your best, you look hawttt.

2. When you walk to work and it doesn't rain.

It's like the sky is saying today could be your day.

3. When your Starbs spells your name right.

This might only happen once in a blue moon, but who knew that your name had so many ways to misspell it?

4. When your favorite song comes on the radio.

Yes, you will be shamelessly singing (screaming?) along. You'll also nail the rap section because, why wouldn't you?

5. When you get a great parking spot when running errands.

You now can get in and how at lightning speed and get on with your day.

6. When that cute guy smiles at you/ likes your Insta pic/ exists.

You finally caught his attention! Maybe it only took a few days, maybe a few months, but hey, you did it!

7. When you're doing laundry and find $10 in one of your pants pockets.

You might consider yourself to be broke, but now you have enough for a Chipotle burrito (with guac if you wanna splurge).

8. When that risky Pinterest recipe actually turns out.

You were 98% sure it was not going to turn out in your favor, hence why you had Easy Mac ready to go, but now you've got a gourmet dinner. You're so grown up.

9. When two of your fav celebs get married.

They are going to have such amazing kids- ugh you're just so happy for them.

10. When you don't spill your coffee everywhere.

We're surprised too, to be honest.

11. When your fav sports team wins.

Maybe it's because you wore your lucky jersey, maybe it's because they're a great team, who can say for sure?

12. When Beyoncé comes on shuffle during your workout.

You naturally have to work out harder now.

13. When the item you need to buy happens to be on sale.

It's like the universe is on your side today.

14. When your hair cooperates despite it being humid out.

This is far more than most people can say.

15. When you find that hidden bag of goldfish in the back of the pantry.

Your mom may have purposely been saving those, but today they became a little afternoon pick-me-up.

16. When you get that obscure password you weren't sure about on the first try.

You don't log into Pinterest too often from your computer, but when you do, it takes you usually three to five password attempts. Today, however, was not your usual day.

17. When you find the necklace you thought was for sure gone for good.

You now have the perfect accessory for your outfit tomorrow.

18. When your paycheck is bigger than expected.

You are definitely going out on Friday now.

19. When a package you forgot about arrives.

Remember when you ordered that swimsuit? No? Well it's here!

20. When you open Timehop and are reminded how awesome your life has been over the years.

One year ago today was bangin', like most days when you think about it.

Sometimes the small wins are the best, most unexpected ones. You can't win 'em all, but you can find the wins in each day and just appreciate those.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
