20 Reasons Why Retail Is The Worst

Retail can really make people miserable.

Most people work in retail at some point. Just two words truly describes it: it sucks. Between rude customers and store rules, it can get annoying quick. Retail makes workers want to leave, but it can be the best way to make money during school or until a really good opportunity come up. This is a list on why retail sucks:

1. Greeting a customer and getting ignored.

Sometimes they don't ignore the worker, but just give them a dirty look instead.

2. When a group of teens come in, the whole store is about to get messed up.

The store could just be cleaned and they couldn't care less.

3. When customers crawl under fitting room doors and leave piles of clothes in there.

This is why most dressing rooms are locked. Ask to go in and put everything on the rack outside at least.

4. The most obvious thieves constantly come back, and freak out on you for even just asking if they need help.

They obviously have a little bit of a guilty conscious.

5. Getting yelled at by a customer because someone put one piece of clothing in clearance, and it doesn't ring up as clearance or any cheaper.

They get even more annoyed when they ask the worker to change the price and are told no.

6. Being asked if you work there, when you have a tag on or are literally standing behind the counter

.

They ask that a lot to people who are behind the counter, unbelievably.

7. Holding out your hand for cash, only for the customer to set it down on the counter.

One lady actually told a coworker of mine to pick it up off the counter and went to text on her phone.

8. Customers find coupons online that says ONLINE ONLY, and get easily pissed off about when it can't be accepted in stores.

No, stores cannot use promo codes, just bar codes.

9. Customers read the sign wrong, or don't fully read it, and tell us that we're wrong when items don't scan their way.

It clearly says buy one, get one half off. Not everything is half off.

10. When the store closes in five minutes, someone comes in and messes up a lot of stuff, and leaves without buying anything.

Why must they touch everything in sight?

11. When it's a minute before close, someone comes in, and stays ten minutes past close.

No one likes staying at work later than they're supposed to. Don't do this to people who work in retail.

12. Some customers actually use fitting rooms as bathrooms.

Yes, this actually happens.

13. When people steal underwear and leave behind a dirty pair.

No one wants to touch that.

14. Being handed money that someone sneezes or coughs on first.

Fall and winter time is the absolute worst.

15. Punching in the amount they gave you and then they tell you that they have change.

No one likes that.

16. Finishing up folding a pile of clothes, and someone tears it up right away.

It's even worst when they throw something on top of your pile as your folding it.

17. Watching a customer knock something off a rack, look at it, and walk away.

Picking up just one little thing must be too hard for some people.

18. Getting yelled at for their card being declined.

It's not the computer's fault either.

19. Little kids mess up so much stuff while parents don't even watch them, and parents get offended when the kids are asked kindly to stop or be careful.

Please watch your kids or don't get offended when someone tells them to calm down so nothing breaks.

20. When customers grab stuff that they're not supposed to, instead of asking for help, and getting mad when a worker stops them and tries to help.

No, poles and step-stools are not up for grabs. Ask for help instead, before something gets ruined.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
