All of my fondest childhood memories took place in the best decade: the 2000s. Being a kid in the 2000s meant singing along to "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" with my big cousins (hey now!), watching Disney Channel at its best, after school spent outside with friends and our cell phones were only meant for texting and calling. I think anyone who was lucky enough to have their childhood in the 2000s would agree that it was a hella cool decade to grow up in, and here are 20 reasons why!

1. "The Lizzie McGuire Movie"

A cinematic masterpiece. Was definitely snubbed at the 2004 Academy Awards.

2. The music!

The 2000s had the most awesome jams to sing and dance to! There was iconic music from Britney Spears, Usher, The Black Eyed Peas and Paramore.

3. And speaking of music, the first ever iPod was introduced

Apple advertised it as "1,000 songs in your pocket" in 2001. Some of those songs most likely included "Lady Marmalade," "U Got It Bad" and a personal favorite "Island In The Sun."

4. Disney Channel

Kids in the 2000s were blessed with shows such as "Kim Possible," "Even Stevens," "That's So Raven," and "The Proud Family" just to name a few.

5. Nickelodeon

Nick also had some awesome shows like "SpongeBob SquarePants," "The Amanda Show," "Drake and Josh," and "Jimmy Neutron."

6. This guy!

7. Gaucho pants

Almost every girl had a pair of black gauchos in her closet—they matched everything!

8. Myspace

There's a good chance your mom never let you have your own page, but you made one, anyway.

9. These kept you entertained

10. Reality TV

The 2000s gave us shows like "Survivor," "American Idol" (RIP), "The Bachelor," "Laguna Beach" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

11. Iconic moments in pop culture

From Britney shaving her head in 2007 to "Taylor, I'ma let you finish" at the 2009 VMAs, there were so many moments in pop culture that were certainly memorable.

12. Movies

Remember watching "Aquamarine" on repeat? Or learning every word to "Mean Girls?"

13. We met a fresh-faced Taylor Swift

The first song she gave us was "Teardrops On My Guitar," which was about her longing for a boy named Drew.

14. AOL

15. The fashion

Frosted tips, Live Strong bracelets, puka shell necklaces, Bobby Jack, Limited Too, the list goes on.

16. "Ignition" (Remix) by R.Kelly

Now I'm not tryna be rude to any other hit of the 2000s but, this song deserves its own spot on this list because it's just that good!

17. Nintendo DS

Time and time again, I think about how my Nintendogs are doing.

18. Club Penguin

Everyone and their friends played CP together!

19. The JoBros

The Jonas Brothers were my life, as well as almost every other girl's. The truest of fans had all their merch. And saw them in concert. Multiple times.

20. Food

Wonderballs, fruit rollups, Goober, and Gripz. Delish!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
