20 Reasons to Love Yourself

While fall rolls around and we become increasingly busier, it is hard to remember why we love ourselves while being pulled in every direction with school, work, the holidays and just life in general. So here is a list of small things that can keep us self-positive even on the hardest days.

You should love yourself because:

1. You know how to make the best cup of coffee

2. You can make your own day by just accepting/embracing a part of you.

3. There's no other you in the world

4. You've worked your ass off for everything you've accomplished (whether it's making money at a job, good grades in school, getting like e-board positions in clubs)

5. You know your limits like no one else

6. You finished that season of that show so quickly you should get a medal

7. You've managed to cross something off your to do list

8. No one tells stories the way you do

9. The "flaws" that you carry around are what make you unique

10. Your dog sees you as nothing but perfect

11. Nobody smiles the way you do

12. You know how to perfectly cater to yourself

13. You're working hard for yourself and not for anyone else

14. Because you can laugh at yourself and not feel bad about it later

15. You are loving

16. You are caring

17. You wake up every day and make it the best day you can

18. Each day, you create an art masterpiece, your eyeliner

19. You out on the best damn concert in the bathroom before your shower

20. You are being yourself

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
