Time and time again I see people being mean to one another. When did we as humans decide it was okay to judge each other? We are all entitled to our own opinions, beliefs and life goals. Often times, we forget that others may think a little differently than ourselves. It is sad to see the world becoming one in which we are completely selfish. With every life on this planet comes a different life story. Some have it harder than others, and we all have our bad days and need a bit of encouragement. Here are a few daily activities you can do in order to put a smile on someone's face for just a moment. As humans, we should all strive to be kind to others and make the world a little bit happier.
1. Smile at passing strangers.
2. Hold the door open for other people.
3. Say hello to familiar faces.
4. When having a conversation, be invested in what the other person is saying.
5. Use "please" and "thank you."
6. Remind loved ones of how much you love them.
7. Be considerate and patient with customer service employees.
8. Smile for yourself and those around you.
9. Never act as if you are better than anyone else.
10. Tell a joke and make someone laugh.
11. Give compliments.
12. Try to understand other people's opinions, even if they're different from your own.
13. Hug the people you love.
14. Be the bigger person in tough situations.
15. Be forgiving.
16. Respect those younger, older, richer or poorer than you.
17. Do something each day that makes you happy.
18. Stop worrying about how other people look and how you look all the time.
19. Tell someone about how much you appreciate them.
20. Treat others in the way you want to be treated.
Doing a few of these activities every day will start to make your world a much happier one. We can all forget the lessons of politeness and respect that we learned as kids far too often. There is truly a chain reaction to being kind and being a caring person will make a great impact. It is important to remember how your small act of kindness can bring a world of happiness to another person.
