Psalm 71:23 "My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praise to you—I whom you have delivered."

Music is probably the biggest thing we as humans, have in common as a whole. I mean it's honestly apart of our daily lives. It really doesn't matter what we listen too, We're just always listening to something.

Growing up I always listened to music. It was just apart of me. I've got a broad spectrum of what I listen too, but the one thing I love listening too, is contemporary christian music. People quite often misread most christian music. When they think christian music they think hymns you'd sing in church. Not true. Contemporary christian music is so beautiful and so calming. It's modern day music with uplifting words, that happen to relate to Christ.

I got the idea to share 20 of my favorite contemporary christian songs after a friend of mine posted this particular song, (which I will include as part as the songs I love) and it's funny, it was a song I needed at that particular time in the week. I was struggling, close to breaking down in tears, and God always knows what we need and when we need it. When I heard it, I just felt this sense of calm. That I will be okay. God's got me wrapped in his unconditional love, and that somehow all will work out perfectly.

Here are some of my favorite songs ever that I think can help replenish and uplift your soul.

1. He Knows- Jeremy Camp

The first time I heard this song, I heard it live at a Christian concert, at a time in my life when I felt like life was truly and honestly against me. When I first heard it, I kid you not I fell to my knees and threw my hands up. The lyrics in the song touched me in such a deep beautiful way, because he knows every hurt and every sting, he has walked the suffering. It was a beautiful reassurance.

2. Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)-Hillsong United

This song is well known throughout the world. The powerful lyrics that are known around the world are Spirit lead me where my trust is without boarders, let me walk along the waters, wherever you may call me, take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger, in the presence of your savior. This song is so beautiful. One of my absolute favorites, because the lyrics truly do touch the soul. It's such a beautiful song I can't describe the feeling I get when I listen to it.

3. Praise You In This Storm- Casting Crowns

I was driving home late one night, and it had been raining on and off, this song played as I was driving over a bridge and when the lyrics I'll praise you in this storm, and I will lift my hands, you are who you are, no matter where I am came on, it started storming. It's like God knew. That moment was so incredible, and as I am writing this, I'm actually listening to this song, and a storm is on it's way.. God is pretty incredible. This song is extremely powerful, and it's been like an anthem lately for me. I must listen to it at least 5 times a day.

4. Beautiful-Mercyme

This song. Oh this song. You all can't see it, but I'm smiling as I am writing this. I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and low self esteem for many years. One day a friend of mine noticed I was low and sent this song to me. The message behind it, makes me feel beautiful in a sense. I know no matter what, I'm beautiful in his eyes.

5. Closer- Brandon Lake

I found this beautiful song on Monday. Now I can't stop listening to this very true, and very raw song about needing the lord to help guide us through life. I saw this song on snapchat, that a friend of mine had posted a screenshot of, and I listened to it, and pretty much broke down at work because I needed to hear that song in that very moment. It's amazing how God works in us through others.

6. Rain/Reign- Hillsong United

I adore Hillsong United (as you will continue to see) and when I heard this song, it's almost like the atmosphere changed. The lyrics "rain" down on us, and it's one of those "feel good songs".

7. You Raise Me Up- Josh Groban

I recently used this song as an audition piece, and let me tell you, Josh Groban is a beautiful, beautiful singer and person. This song has so much meaning to it.

8. There Is A God- Lee Ann Womack

This song is so beautiful. Hearing it brings me chills because of how much it describes the Earth and God creating earth. It describes the beauty of life and honestly it's just a gorgeous song.

9. Even When It Hurts- Hillsong United

I just honestly love Hillsong United. Their music makes me feel so good and truthfully, I could listen to them all day and all night long. One day I was looking up songs from Hillsong United, and I ran across this song. The first time I heard it, I loved it almost instantly. The lyrics are so deep and meaningful.

10. Walk By Faith- Jeremy Camp

"I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see" Probably a quote/lyric I live by. I heard this song live and just adored it since. Walk with God, he will guide you're every step.

11. Something in the Water- Carrie Underwood

I love Carrie Underwood. I've followed her since she was on American Idol, I have every album downloaded on my phone and just absolutely love her and her music. When she came out with this song, I knew I'd love it, but I didn't know that it would touch me as much as it did. I tear up every single time I hear it. It's such a powerful song, with an amazing message.

12. Does Anybody Hear Her-Casting Crowns

I found this song at a rough time in my life, and it was one of those songs that just related to everything I happened to be going through at the time. It helped me cope and showed me there's a light.

13. Like An Avalanche- Hillsong United

If you haven't already figured it out, I'm highly obsessed with Hillsong United, and when I first heard the name, that's what originally drew me in. It's a different title for a song, but when hearing the lyrics, it was honestly just amazing. I loved the song.

14. What A Beautiful Name- Hillsong Worship

I heard this song and wow... No words for just how beautiful it really is. I love this song so much. Definitely deserves a listen.

15. Hold On- Extreme Music

I first heard this song from a Facebook post. It was a clip from the show "Dance Moms". The girls did an interpreted dance to the song and the title to the dance was "Suicide Hotline" to raise suicide awareness. This song is such a powerful song with an extremely important message. I highly recommend everyone listen to it.

16. Holy Spirit- Francesca Battistelli

I've heard of this amazing woman. But never knew she was the writer of this amazing song. I saw her live and heard her sing it and I fell in love with the song. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

17. I Can Only Imagine- Mercyme

This song has been in my life for as long as I can remember. It's so beautiful and brings a sense of being okay. Definitely one of my number 1 favorites.

18.You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)- Josh Groban

I found this song a few years ago. and honestly I love it so much. The lyrics are beautiful and hit you, remember no matter what someone somewhere, loves you.

19. Pray for Peace- Reba McEntire

This song, especially with all the hurt and anger going on in the world, it has an extremely bone chilling message to it. I toiled with putting this song on here, but the more I thought about it (and my love for Reba) I felt we all need to just stop for a second, despite all the hate around us, and pray for peace.

20. Life- Hillsong United

I think this one can speak for itself.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
