I'm the worst at writing a bio mainly because I suck at talking about myself. But here's the main facts about me. My name is Ashton. I'm 22 years old and I work full time. I see my coworkers way more than my actual family. I have a full time job downtown in Richmond working for the Marriott... Well one of the Marriott's in downtown RVA, but I'll leave it to you to figure that one out ;).
I recently left my part time job for a full time job (yes I actually feel like a real adult which scares me deeply) but I'm still extremely close with my coworkers from that job. I have two work moms Nancy and Diana and a close friend in the programs department named Noel. Without them, I wouldn't know right from left.
Throughout my life I've dealt with hardships. I was in school for a year but decided to withdrawal in May of 2015. I felt at the time it wasn't right and now looking back it was the best decision of my life. My family comes first, and actually they are part of the reason I'm a writer.
After my father passed in May of 2008, I decided to express myself through writing. I started writing poetry when I was in 6th grade and from there on out I've been writing stories about life and family and personal things. It's definitely my outlet and a way to express my feelings.
My "dream job" in life is to become a meteorologist. I love the weather. Infact I am obsessed with the weather. As a young girl, I began the fascination when I'd be with my grandparents and they'd have The Weather Channel on for background noise. I started watching the 6 hour long Weather updates which were always interesting especially when there was severe weather around. Oh and when Storm Stories came on, I'd be hooked on it. While most kids watched Spongebob, I watched Tornado Chasers. It was my absolute favorite thing in the world.
I am also a singer. Though I don't do it as often as I did when I was in high school, I occasionally do it. My sophomore and junior year in high school I made our school's Show Choir. Then after I was injured dancing, I decided to auditioned (and I joined) our school's Chamber Ensemble which is an all acapella mixed group. It was what made my high school experience better. I miss it everyday.
Well there you have it. I'm just an average girl with dreams. So I write about them. Enjoy my articles!
