Sometimes you just need a good book. A book to warm your soul and mend your heart. But sometimes the best books even make you cry… hysterically. Here are some of the books that I think every girl should read by the end of college, if not sooner.

1. "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks

With extreme passion, Nicholas Sparks paints a picture of what it's like to stand by the person you love no matter the hardships.

2. "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks

Sparks shows what it's like to get your heart broken into a million pieces and have someone pick them up with more love than you've ever known.

3. "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series by Ann Brashares

Brashares shows what it's like to have friends that will stand by your side no matter the distance.

4. "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austin

Jane Austin writes this book through the eyes of vanity and love.

5. "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Brontë

Brontë shows what it is like for a young woman to go through intense internal growth while maintaining a love interest.

6. "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green

John Green takes the common love story and transforms it into something that makes your heart weep as you read about a journey between two teens like none other.

7. "Paper Town"s by John Green

Green writes a story of two childhood friends that experience something so tragic that it's guaranteed to bring them closer than ever.

8. "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell

Rowell shows what it's like to be the girl on the outside, to be the girl that everyone mocks. But she also shows how the girl on the outside and the boy on the outside can create their own inside.

9. "Yes Please" by Amy Poehler

Poehler writes an extraordinarily funny book with loads of personal stories that will allow for a bit of self reflection.

10. "Bossypants" by Tina Fey

Tina Fey writes a book very similar to her soul sister's book- If you like Poehler's autobiography then you're bound to love Fey's as well.

11. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky

Chbosky's book is one hundred times better than the movie, I promise.

12. "Breaking Night" by Liz Murray

Murray writes an autobiography that is sure to my you cringe while you cry, but worth it in the end.

13. "My Sister’s Keeper" by Jodi Picoult

Piccolo gives you a story that is perfect for a dark rainy day where crying hysterically wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

14. "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson

Laurie Halse Anderson tells the story of a young girl that probably couldn't have had a worse experience even if she begged.

15. "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare

We all know the story, but to read it in the original intended wording makes it 100x better.

16. "Othello" by William Shakespeare

Yet another beautifully tragic story that should be on your "Already Read" list.

17. "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare

Most people know this one too, but again, reading it the was it was intended is way better.

18. "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne

It's the book behind the ever so popular movie Easy A, read it, it's a good one.

19. "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott

A great illustration of the importance of being authentic.

20. "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker

Alice Walker writes this novel with such explicit rawness, you're bound to take it to heart.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
