I don't believe there is much peace found if not found in Jesus. The hope, comfort, and salvation we have through Him is hard to find anywhere else, scratch that, impossible to find anywhere else. This is it. Here are 20 bible verses when the world has got a hold on your heart.

Psalm 62:1 “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 34:14 “Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.”

Jeremiah 31:25 “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Psalm 15:8 “I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Proverbs 15:9 “The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But He loves one who pursues righteousness.”

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

2 Thessalonians 3:13 “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.”

1 Timothy 6:11 “But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.”

Isaiah 40:29 “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

2 Timothy 2:22 “Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Psalm 37:39 “But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in time of trouble.”

Romans 8:26-28 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”

Psalm 138:3 “In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.”

2 Corinthians 4:16 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.”

John 13:66 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 62:5 “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.”

Psalm 46:10 “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
