Having a multitude of friends is great. I am able to see the different diversities that people have and be around so many different personalities. Some of my friends are really introverted, while others are extroverted. Through these different types of people, I am glad to say that I have found a few that I can call my best friend. These are the people that I know I can always turn to and they will always be there for me.
I have heard time and time again that you can only have one best friend. This is furthest from the truth. Having more than one best friend is perfectly normal. Each best friend holds a special place in your heart. Each best friend has a different reason for being in your life. They all mean something dear to you. Even if one is with you at college and another is back at home, they both have different assets that are valuable to you. Knowing you always have someone to call whenever and wherever is such a precious feeling, and knowing you are that same person for them as they are for you is just as satisfying.
So why are they my best friends? Why can these people so different than me mean so much to me? These girls have become some of the best parts of me. Not only have I completely opened up to them about my life, but they have showed me that I can truly trust them with my life. Whether I have had a horrible day and need someone to listen to me cry, or I am just bored and do not want to sit and eat Goldfish alone -- these girls are always there. Having more than one best friend is wonderful because I know I always have two girls in my corner. I know that even when I am down, I have at least two people to try and pick me up. I would take the two best friends I have, over a million average friends any day. So take a minute and realize exactly who your best friends are. Tell them you love them and make sure they know it.
