So, in the past, I've been a fan of band posters, tapestries (obviously), photographs, etc. I never really began to even contemplate what a hand-crafted painting would do. Frankly, I was never really into paintings growing up, but after finding some of these talented artists off of Instagram and through friends, my perspective has changed. These two artists are both so incredibly talented, and their artwork is insane. They both paint celebrities, as well as their own original ideas. Their paintings aren't the super realistic, almost-like-a-photograph type paintings, but instead, they express a raw talent with bright pastels, and swift paint marks.
Lucy Ford
The first I want to begin to recognize is Lucy Ford. Lucy Ford is an artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her artwork has skyrocketed unbelievably in the past couple years, and nearly all of her pieces have been sold out in every size. She paints a variety of artists, as well as showcases psychedelic originals that we can't stop looking at. Her story in incredible because so many people in her life have doubted her, and through her hard work, she has been quite successful. Even Justin Bieber himself appeared at one of her art shows. It's safe to say that this is just the beginning for this rising, talented artist.

Mariella Angela
The next artist I want to recognize is Mariella Angela. Mariella is also an LA-based artist. Similar to Lucy's work, she also paints a variety of artists in a unique light. Her artwork is not only breathtaking, from her oil-painting abilities, but some people begin to question these abilities. I can't seem to understand why she's so good, and these skills make me jealous nonetheless. Particularly her Weeknd portrait just made me love her that much more.
Check Mariella's Instagram @itsmariel to see a huge collection of all her artwork.
While I think both of these artists are extremely talented, as well as blowing up on the west coast, I feel like their art needs to be spoken about more here in the PNW/Washington area. Both of these artists present artwork that can decorate any room aesthetic, and is affordable as well. The point is, you can really see both of these talented ladies put their heart and soul into their artwork, and the recognition they receive is simply not enough in my eyes.
If you like what you see, here is Lucy's work that you can purchase (Warning: They sell out extremely fast, but nonetheless, beautiful pieces to get as soon as you see them.)
Here is Mariella's work. She has a wider selection than Lucy, I'd say, but her work is very celebrity-portrait based. The nice thing she does is re-create different types of artist portraits, so you'll see different Rihanna portraits or different Kanye portraits, which is a nice variety.
